She watched carefully. She had been at the hold for months now and had seen the man that was supposed to be her father. She wasn't sure about him though. She had listened to the rumors and didn't like some of them she had heard.
But, then again he was doing alright otherwise. Now was the time to speak to him. She walked up to his office door and knocked.
"Enter, the door is open," Corowal called, his attention in his work.
Erilite walked in. She was dressed in a soft green dress and had allowed her hair to grow somewhat. She had her slate with her. She carefully walked to his desk and took a deep breathe. She placed her slate on his desk with her first words. This wasn't going to be easy and she decided to be rather blunt.
^Hello Lord holder Corowal. You don't know me but I am Erilite. I believe you knew my mother. Her name was Valima.^ Corowal stared the girl, he had been expecting one of his stewards. Then he stared the slate and the text in it. "Umh, yes, I knew her," he finally said after a very long and uneasy moment of silence.
Erilite nodded and took back her slate. She quickly erased her words and glanced back at him. She was unsure of how to say what she needed to. She sighed as she turned back to her slate and began writing.
^I have been searching for the man my Grandfather did not want me to meet. He was described and it led me here. Grandfather did not want me to know of him or he of me.^ She placed the slate in front of him again and waited. Her handwriting was small and precise.
Corowal read the text in silence. "You don't talk, do you?" he asked.
Erilite stopped and looked at him a moment. She sighed and shook her head. No she did not have a voice. Her voice had never been. She was used to it. She watched him carefully, wondering what other questions he might have before she revealed what she had come to learn.
"And why are you bringing this..matter... to me? " Corowal asked.
She quickly grabbed her slate and began writing again. She was ready to just be finished with it so she could know.
^This man is supposed to be my father. You are the one I was lead to. Did you 'sleep' with her when you had a relation with her. It would have been over twenty turns ago.^ She watched expectantly. As she placed the slate before him. Afriad he would not agree and she would have to start her search over again.
"And you expected me to answer a question like that? You have provide me some proof first, girl. Let's start with proving you're who you claim to be," Corowal said with strained voice.
She sighed and her shoulders slumped. This was going to be difficult. She didn't want him to seek her grandfather. She knew he would just call her a liar. She carefully pulled out a long letter she had spent a long time composing. She wasn't sure if he would really care. She handed it to him.
