He gestured to the couch, and then, hesitantly, to the bedroom. "Maybe
we should sit somewhere?"
"Yes." Briata agreed, the word an almost breathless whispered. She
took his hand and squeezed it gently before taking the lead to the
bedroom.
Ishek swallowed slightly as he followed her. Things were seeming unreal
to him. Almost unnatural. He was married, and now he and Bri would have
to...have to... He swallowed again at the thought. He liked her- cared
about her- didn't want to hurt her. ANd while he liked her, she
was...young. Younger than him by over ten Turns. How was he to do this?
Inside the bedroom, Briata paused. The bed stretched out before them,
waiting. She glanced up at him, "I'll need help...unlacing." The ties
were in the back and her step mother had to help her lace it up for the
ceremony. She certainly wouldn't be able to get out of it without
help. In amusement, Briata wondered if that was why her mother had
chosen that style of dress in the first place.
This he could do. As long as he didn't think about it for too long. "Let
me know if I do anything wrong." he said. He stepped behind her and
started unlacing them. "I'm not too familiar with these..." he joked.
"It's fine." Briata felt the gentle tug of his hands upon her back. It
was an odd sensation, knowing that she was going to be exposed fully to
that man, her husband. It would pass, Wenina had said. She just
needed to relax. "I'm used to them being in the front."
Ishek finally finished unlacing them. "Done." he said quietly.
"Okay." Briata turned to face Ishek, arms crossed over her front,
partly to hold up the dress and partly the sudden shyness that claimed
her. "So..."
"So," he echoed. He wasn't sure if he was glad or not that she was
holding up the dress. He knew what he was supposed to want, but he
didn't know what she wanted. He wondered if he should feel bad that he
was somewhat relieved. "How do you prefer to sleep? With a sleeping
gown or..."
She didn't why she started to laugh. For some reason, what he asked
struck her as funny somehow. She giggled, one hand releasing the dress
to clasp tightly over her mouth. Briata managed to compose herself
rather quickly however and when her hand lowered, the laughter had
stopped, though her bright smile remained. "Do you think we need to
worry about that tonight?"
"Well, yes." Ishek said defensively. "I mean, there's still candlemarks
till dawn, and we're not going to stay awake the whole time." He
noticed when her hand moved and instinctively looked up towards the
ceiling.
What was he waiting for? For her? Maybe he wanted to let her set the
pace. "Why don't we just play it by ear?" The girl suggested, then
let go of the dress and helped to guide it over her hips, the fabric
pooling at her feet.
"We could..." And then Ishek's voice failed. He had to make a conscious
effort to look at her. He hadn't been expecting her to take the lead
like this; he supposed, in some clinical detached way, he'd hoped she'd
be nervous, be unwilling. That way he wouldn't feel guilty. He
swallowed, and tried to meet her eyes.
"Is...is something wrong?" Briata felt odd, partially eager, partially
shy, partially nervous. She wasn't sure if she was supposed to be
leading, she thought he was, but then he hadn't done anything. So she
thought he was waiting for her. Had she guessed wrong? What was she
supposed to do? The night wasn't turning out to be anything like she
had imagined it, or had even discussed with Wenina.
"You know it's been Turns since I was last married, and I'm nervous." he
told her honestly. "It's not your fault."
"I'm a bit nervous too." The young woman admitted, her face flushing as
her hands played at one another. "I just...I'm not quite sure what to
do. I mean, I know logically what should happen I've just
never..." She trailed off, feeling a bit like a fool, really.
He laughed slightly, and sat down on the bed. "We can take this slow..."
Maybe by the time the kissing was over, he'd be more interested in the
rest. He couldn't disappoint her.
"Yes." Briata followed him and sat down at his side, feeling so strange
without her clothing. "Slow...take our time, learn about each
other." That was more of the advice Wenina had given her.
Ishek started to pull at his tunic, and then stopped. "I helped you- do
you want to help me?"
She had been told that was often erotic for the men, but should
she? "Do you want me to?" Briata's hand fingered the edge of his
tunic. "I want to do whatever pleases you."
"You don't _just_ have to do what pleases me." he said quickly. "This is
about both of us. But I wouldn't mind the help."
"Okay." Briata slid her hand beneath the tunic and slowly, almost
carefully pushed it up, her fingers running over Ishek's skin. Her
face felt hot as the blood rushed to it, though she didn't stop. She
was grateful for the dim light, however.
Ishek lifted his arms to help her out, and felt himself relaxing into
her touches. This wasn't so bad, so far.
He made no protest to her touch, so Briata let her hands run over his
chest once his tunic was removed. She was trying to remember
everything she had been told. She was more concerned about making him
feel good than worrying about herself. "Is this...good?"
"It's nice. Your hands are soft." he said with a little surprise. He
leaned in and kissed her again.
Briata returned the kiss, that time with a bit more confidence than
before. Her hands slipped from his chest to make their way around him
and she drew in closer, her body pressing against his.
They were close together now, and Ishek found himself responding to her.
he ran his hands up her back, touching her, but hesitated before moving
them anywhere else. Was he pushing her too far?
