Of the men. "Are we playing a game here?"
"You should know the game, U'kaiah - you're a master." Kamira gave him a look that she knew he wouldn't quite be able to read. "But we're not playing for keeps. Weyrlinghood adds a few extra rules to the game that I'm not inclined to break." For the time present she was just fine getting up and ignoring the men around her to focus on the bronzerider.
"Yes, well, you certainly like walking a fine line," the bronzerider said as he leaned against the table next to her, watching the other men around and wondering if they weren't just a little tempted to forget that this one was off limits. It was a cruel game some woman could play. "And where is your lifemate now?"
Kamira's eyes los focus for a moment before she replied, "Tayanth is sleeping comfortably after a rather large meal. I'll be back to check on her before too much longer, though." Although she was rewarding herself with a night out, Kamira was hardly one to ingore or risk her relationship with her lifemate. "And where is yours?"
The wingleader would keep any eye on the other men about, but he certainly trusted himself not to fall victim to Kamira's charms. Women seemed so much more alluring when they were unavailable... He relaxed, though, in the knowledge that despite Kamira's dress and flirtation, she seemed to understand that her first duty was to her dragon. "Flirting probably," he finally answered. "Like rider like dragon, you know."
"Does that mean you're planning on flirting with me, U'kaiah?"
He shrugged slightly. "Isn't that part of the game, Kamira?"
"Well after the rumors I've heard about you and a certain authority figures around the weyr you would sit a few out." She knew it would be a sensitive isssue but between the dress and the public setting she was hoping she'd get away with it.
He shrugged nonchalantly. "You pose no danger to _anyone_ at the moment, least of all a certain authority figure." Besides, no matter how much he cared for Jaela, they had never made any sort of promise to each other. Though U'kaiah had been surprised at his disinterest in looking for anyone else to spend his time with.
Kamira shrugged a shoulder. "Yes, but I'll still have the dress when my stint with celibacy is over."
And he would hopefully still have his authority figure. Still, it was a nice thought. He had very much enjoyed their time together, and _some_
dragon had to catch hers in her first mating flight. Of course, chances were, she wouldn't be wearing that particular dress at the time. "Maybe you should wear it on the day you graduate to senior weyrling then."
"You don't believe in wasting any time, do you?"
"Well, I seem to remember you weren't exactly waiting before," he whispered. U'kaiah would never forget his shock at her behavior in the Weyrlake so . Nor could he forget the one night they had spent together before he ended up in the infirmary.
Kamira blushed - she had to admit that he had her. "Well then don't be surprised if you're the first to enjoy the benefits of my senior weyrlinghood."
"Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves, Kamira," the bronzerider said softly. "You have several months of weyrlinghood left. Perhaps you should save this dress till then."
"Don't worry, bronzerider. I'll behave." She gave him a rather sultry look that even surprised herself a little.
U'kaiah swallowed hard. "And don't look at me or any man with that look again until you're good and ready to fulfill the offer behind it."
Kamira couldn't help but burst out laughing. "It's simply not fair that my feminine wiles are peaking while there's nothing I can do about it."
She shrugged one shoulder. "But such is life. I suppose I'll call it a night before I get myself into trouble. Happy?"
"Not really," he chuckled, thinking just how unfair it was for _him_ at that moment as well. "But I think it is for the best."
She crossed her arms and sighed. "You're probably right. Good night, U'kaiah."
"Good night, Kamira." He gave her his best cocky bronzerider smile.
"And don't forget that we have a date."
