"P'veas right?" Labarr asked as he sat down next to the rider. There were plenty of other open seats, but what was the point in sitting alone? "I think I remember you from one of C'jan's parties, right?"
"That's right." The greenrider smiled at the lad. "Aren't you his weyrmate?"
Labarr nodded. "For awhile. We decided good friends fit our lifestyle a bit better though. How about you? Got a weyrmate to keep you company at night?"
"If only," P'veas said, with what he hoped was a hint of interest in his voice. It had been a while since he'd found some company in the evenings.
"Don't sound so sad, I'm here now to keep you company now." Labarr replied, getting a good feeling out of this prospect. "I'm sure we can find something to do this evening to pass the time."
"Really?" drawled P'veas, as he moved slightly closer to the young man. "Perhaps you could share those ideas with me."
Labarr smiled. "Well, they all end up with you coming back to my place for some wine. Of course, it is early, so we could stay here awhile if you want."
"And conversation?"
"That is a splendid idea, I'm full of conversation." Labarr said with a grin. "We should get to know one another."
"Of course, there are other ways to get to know a person."
Not one for talk? Labarr did prefer to get to know a person a little, it was so much more fun once a report and trust was built up, but he wasn't averse to the strong silent type either. "Such as?"
"A dance or two," suggested the greenrider. "You can find out a lot about a person's personality that way. How they hold themselves, how they read the music; even the music they choose."
Labarr grinned and stood up, holding his hand out to the greenrider. "I like that idea. Our bodies can get to know each other at the same time as we do."
"Now that could be a plan," P'veas reached out and took the young man's hand in his own. "You see you can talk at the same time. Words, and bodies."
"And music and dancing." Labarr said with a grin. "I couldn't think of a better evening."
"Nor could I."
