"This is the last one, ready to be archived." Corowal signed the hide with a
flourish and then pushed it across the table to Sarban. "No more of those,
I hope? My writing hand is getting cramps," he asked jokingly.

"That's the last." He shuffled the hides and made sure they were in order.
"So, for Turn's End what's the plan?" Even though Sarban was Corowal's
right hand and actually saw things get done, he liked to let the Lord
Holder do the actual planning for the big event. "Do we have anything
left?"

"The usual Gather, and Harper's announcements. Everyone is waiting for the
Harper hall to be finished, so there's no need for a big event," Corowal
replied. "Let's just keep it inside the hold."

"All right, the Headwoman can handle the food and the Hold harper will do
the entertainment."

Sarban didn't even have to worry about housing since that was the
Headwoman's area.

"The traders are scheduled to stop here around that time too, so that cares
take of the rest of entertainment," Corowal noted. "We can have small
dances. Speaking of which, do you have a dance partner?"

"Maybe, though I'm not sure yet," he answered honestly.

"Oh?" Corowal turned to look him with a curious expression and a raised
eyebrow. "Anybody I know?"

"Yes and if I told you, you'd probably choke." Sarban kept a knowing eye on
his cousin.

"Try me. Now you got my curiosity piqued and you know I never give up before
I know..." Corowal said with a challenging tone.

It wasn't that Sarban was giving in, but the truth was he knew Corowal would
find out sooner or later.
"Lisadi..the fostermother."

"Ah, she's a good woman," Corowal nodded approvingly. Not his type, of
course. "She does come with a full package, did you realize that? You get
the kids too."

"They'll be apprentice age after a bit." Sarban realized that, however. "It
doesn't matter, though. The kids aren't hard to handle. The boy..he's just
confused still."

"He's been through a lot. I did hear she's doing great with them," Corowal
said.

"Yeah. There have been some ups and downs, but he's going to be all right.
He's a good kid. The little girl is talking now," Sarban told him,
revealing more about how much time he had spent with Lisadi.

"Yes, I think Corolia has been playing with them once or twice," Corowal
said with a nod.

"So, that business up at the Weyr. Did you ever hear anything?" Sarban asked
softly.

"Well, the change in leadership has everyone buzzing like a disturbed nest
of vtols," Corowal said.
"There were so many rumors flying around it was hard to say what really is
going on there."

"You haven't gotten anything official yet? How odd." Sarban scratched his
neck, thinking.

"The only official news is that Janani is now the acting Weyrwoman of
Dolphin Cove Weyr until next gold rises to mate," Corowal said. "And that
is from the Harpers. The Weyr is keeping the reasons of why to
themselves."

"Janani, who is that?" Sarban knew of the young one and Jyramikah, but that
name didn't ring any bells.

"A new one, from River Bluff Weyr, if I heard it right," Corowal replied.

"Oh?" Sarban digested that. "When do you think she's going to make the
rounds so we can see her?" That was traditionally what any new Weyrwoman did.

"I hope so. We could invite her and the Weyrleader for Turnover," Corowal
said.

"I wonder if they would come here or one of the other Holds." Sarban
considered that. "Can't skimp on their invitation though, even if they
don't. They have to be invited."

"Yes, as well as the Hallmasters," Corowal said. "But they don't have to
come."

"Right. So Cresheon's daughters are coming." Sarban thought about the minor
holder. "We've got to find them husbands."

Corowal groaned. "What are we, a marriage arrangement office? Maybe we
should delegate it to my wife."

"I'd say that's a good plan." Felyna liked doing that sort of thing anyway.

"So, you have noticed." The Lord holder's tone was an amused one.

"Oh aye..before she err..learned, I was pretty sure she thought I could take
up with Erassa." He shook his head, still thinking about that one.

Corowal just lifted his eyebrow at that.
