"Okay lovely, in you go," S'vin told his tiny Kadeth. The blue
whistled happily and dove under the waters. Off to one side was the
much larger figure of Imalkyth, with his handsome rider. K'ale wasn't
someone S'vin had talked to much, being more G'wen's friend than his.
But he wasn't opposed to being friendly to the brownrider. He just
had his own group of friends, and K'ale had never really run with his
crowd.
He smiled at K'ale and said, "he's really growing well."
He chuckled "S'vin!" he said. "Yeah, he just keeps getting bigger all
the time. I hate stepping on G'wen's complaints about Neath though.
So, I don't say anything. Kadeth is looking good."
"Eh? What does G'wen's moaning have anything to do with it? We need
to knock that boy out of this kicking himself around." It annoyed
S'vin that something G'wen might be doing was keeping another person
from expressing himself. Actually, the older they got, the more
G'wen, in general, annoyed him. There he was, with a father who loved
him; with a beautiful green; tiny like S'vin had always wished to be;
and with the most beautiful brown eyes of any boy in the Weyr...and
all he could think to do was feel sorry for himself all the bloody
time! Some people just didn't know how good they had it.
K'ale shrugged "I don't think he'd be G'wen without it." There was
another subject he wanted to discuss but wasn't quite sure how to
really bring it up. So searching for a way to work into it. "Did you
hear my da's brown flew Eillispeth?"
"He could..the little git..." S'vin found it hard to shake his
annoyance at G'wen. Blinking at the mention of Eillispeth being
caught by Torerath, he nodded. "Yeah, I had heard..." His voice
trailed off, wondering where K'ale was going to go, with this.
Being raised in the Weyr he knew it was a possibility but when the
greenrider had a face... He got a shiver down his back. Of course it
ran through his mind there was a possibility of Imalkyth catching
Eillispeth himself in the future and that felt odd but... what if he
caught Neath?
"I don't know I'm going to have to watch whose dragons are rising and
take Imalkyth away when either my mother's or sister's rise." He
stopped scrubbing and looked around the dragon's flank at S'vin,
"Guess I need to think of G'wen the same way." He was _very_
uncomfortable with the thought of waking up with G'wen in his arms.
Even though he knew he shouldn't be. He was just going to have to
learn to deal with it.
"G'wen can be annoying but he's not_that_bad, is he?" S'vin giggled
over the thought of himself waking up next to the tiny greenrider.
They had been best friends since almost birth, and the thought of the
two of them in bed, doing_that_together. . . His giggles threatened to
overwhelm him. Trying to sober up, he added, "at least he's small and
pretty. Can you imagine waking up next to that J'klan?" That green
Weyrling was a good 6'5" and had the muscle of seven years as a Smith.
Whilst he would be the perfect one for S'vin to wake up next to--and
he had enough daydreams about the man to go with that thought--he
could see where a petite boy like G'wen with his big eyes and soft
features would at least be a bit more appealing to a brown or bronze
rider than the Smith. But maybe not...?
"Oh come on, it isn't that funny!" he exclaimed. "G'wen's my friend, I
don't think he's that annoying. Just..." well he couldn't really
explain it even to himself.
"Just what...?" Shards, this should be good.
A shiver ran up his spine. "I like the kid just don't want to love the
kid if you know what I mean."
S'vin really laughed now. "Sorry, I'm not laughing at you...it's just
I have been having those exact thoughts, only they concern Cardella.
I love the girl, but I don't wanna 'love' the girl." He shuddered at
the thought of waking next to his buddy and seeing her...no on no, he
couldn't even think about that! "It's like, in a way, why couldn't
G'wen had gotten Awenth and Cardella Neath?" But then again, he
didn't want to have sex with G'wen either. He stood and fixated on
J'klan for a few moments to get the comedy images of Cardella and
G'wen naked out of his head.
"So you supposed we can convince them?" he asked and then realized
that the idea of Cardella in his arms was attractive and wait... no.
She was his friend and in love with someone else. He shook his head
confused.
"I think we need to talk about something else!"
