K'sedel

It's about time they let you two loose on the weyr again," teased K'sedel. News had travelled pretty fast, or rather the fitness reports had reached his desk, and it was a relief to find that U'das and his bronze were back to full duties once more.

"Yes, a high time," U'das grinned.

"Well there is something I've been meaning to discuss with you," said K'sedel, coming straight to the point.

"What about?" U'das asked, even he had pretty good idea what it might be. He just couldn't keep the anticipation off from his expressive face.

"There's a little matter of a wing without a wingleader."

"The Torrent wing. I does has had a rotten luck with wingleaders," U'das nodded.

"Well there might just be something that you and I can do about that," replied K'sedel.

"And what would that be?" U'das asked even if he already knew what it was. He just wanted to hear K'sedel say it.

"Well, I know of a confident, experienced, well respected man. They're a good pair, him and his bronze."

"Oh, they are? Why is this wonderful pair?" U'das leaned forward. His grin was so wide it almost split his face in two.

"I don't think they are too far away, in this weyr in fact." K'sedel smiled. "I may even be looking at them."

U'das tried to look serious and failed badly. He ended up laughing.

Which in turn set K'sedel laughing as well. When they finally stopped, K'sedel said. "Torrent Wing, it's yours if you want it."

"Yes, I want it," U'das replied after he had calmed down. "I've held rank so long I don't know what to do with my freetime."

"Then it's yours."

"Thank you, Weyrleader."

"My thanks to you, Wingleader."

"Wingleader, I like the sound of that."

"It's been a long time coming. Hopefully it'll keep the pair of you out of trouble for the forseeable future."

"Only untill Tabanirth's next Flight. Then you and Nikornath won't have it so easily anymore" U'das retorted with good-natured banter.

"How's about we just let the lady decide that matter?" suggested K'sedel equally good humoured.

"Yes, she tends to spring surprises..." U'das said. He became serious again. "So, do you have the updated information of my wing?"

"It's in your new office, on your new desk..."

"Good," U'das nodded. "I've familiarized myself with the Torrent wing over the last months, and I already know I would like to have more brownriders. Strong, realiable and experienced ones."

"We could all do with that, but there are some promising new riders coming along."

"But they are so young," U'das sighed.

"They will grow up though."
