Description: U'kaiah comes to Tavia for a bit of relief but doesn't quite get
what he's looking for...
Location: Dolphin Cove Weyr
Date: month 2, day 7 of Turn 6
U'kaiah had felt a bit edgy all day. Kalamath had been watching a
particular green, glowing with with that all too familiar gleam, knowing
any moment she would rise to mate. He was bristling with anticipation,
and it was spilling over into his lifemate, who was finding it rather
difficult to concentrate on his hidework. She took her own sweet time
to wake up from her slumber, but _finally_, she called tauntingly to her
suitors, demanding that they attend her as she was about to rise.
The bronzerider took his place in the circle, eagerly awaiting his own
release from the tension of the wait. If he could have willed his
Kalamath to beat his wings any faster, he would have, for he certainly
sent enough encouraging, lust-filled thoughts his dragon's why. It was
with profound disappointment that they came up empty handed.
He walked half dazed through the hands that reached out for him. There
were plenty of women willing to help him work off his frustration. But
he shrugged them each off, feeling like none of them would satisfy what
he was craving. He wanted a woman who would not just relieve his lust,
but one who would excite his passion, draw it out of him and give it as
good as he gave.
**Is there anything left in those wings of yours?** he asked Kalamath,
already walking to a clear spot bronze sized.
}:I will make them work,:{ his bronze vowed, knowing exactly what was on
his riders mind. Kalamath could not fly a willing partner this day, so
he would willingly settle to find comfort in his loss through U'kaiah.
His rider didn't even bother to stop to get his wheyrhide jacket. He
wouldn't need it where he was going.
~~**~~
Both moons were high over Dolphin Cove when Kalamath carefully
backwinged onto the familiar ledge. Slipping lightly off his bronze's
back, U'kaiah carefully pulled back the curtain to the weyr, calling her
name softly as he slipped inside. "Tavia?" He peeled off his shirt and
let it slip to the floor as he made his way towards he bed, hoping on
Faranth's Egg she was alone in it. "Tavia?" he called again softly
kicked off his boots.
The sounds and Sawauth's sleepy welcome of Kalamath awoke her.
"U'kaiah?" she said coming out of the warm fog. "What's wrong?" She
was confused coming out of a deep sleep like that.
U'kaiah was already at work on his belt. "I lost a Flight. I'll go if
you ask me to, but..." Even as he said those words, his belt slipped
from his hands and the buckle clanged against the stone floor.
Sawauth responded to Kalamath by twining necks and offering the
consolation she could. Tavia did the same. She'd spent enough flights
as a moth to know what he needed right now. She even had a rush of
pleasure that he'd decided to bring it to her. She threw back the
light covers and opened her arms. "No, come here," she said welcoming
him.
He could just make out her teasing contours in the dim light. His
trousers were beginning to feel much too tight and confining! U'kaiah
worked at the fastenings as he crawled up onto the bed, shoving them
down past his hips before tracing his fingers from her knees to her
stomach, to her breasts, and finally to her hands. Lifting her arms
above her head and holding them there firmly, he covered her body with
his as his lips sought hers hungrily. He desperately wanted to claim
his prize, but even as she invited him in, he knew he had to earn the
privilege.
"Oooh" she sighed as his hands wandered over her. Those harper fingers
knew how to drive her almost wild. "Mmmpf" she protested slightly
against his invading mouth when he imprisoned her hands over her head.
U'kaiah pulled back slightly, not wanting to push her too far too fast.
He was feeling the need, but he had to remember that she had not been in
that circle with him. She was not in the same place, but he was
determined to pull her towards that edge with him. Knowing how
sensitive her neck was, his mouth moved there, licking, sucking, tasting
her skin. Suddenly he gently sank his teeth into her tender flesh, not
hard enough to induce real pain, but certainly surprise.
Gooseflesh pimpled her skin and her breathing quickened he hadn't been
like this before with her. If she'd been able to think she might have
realized the lost flight was working on him. The attack on her
sensitive neck made her undulate but the sudden bite was so unexpected
it startled a small squeal from her.
An answering screech came from the other room and suddenly a small
gold avenger popped into the air above the bed. She screamed again and
dove for the giant back of her mistress' attacker. Tiny claws sank
into unsuspecting flesh. Glory would drive it away.
It took a moment for U'kaiah's mind to register that the pain he was
feeling wasn't part of their love-making. Lovers had dug their nails
into his back before, but this was something very different. This pain
was searing! As little teeth grabbed tight onto to top of his ear and
yanked so hard it pulled his head back, it was his turn to scream, this
time in surprised pain. He was under attack! Raising to his knees, he
tried to reach the source and pull it off, only to have his fingers
asaulted.
"Glory _no_!" U'kaiah's little assailant popped out of range in
confusion and chittered her distress. Tavia could see the bloody mess
dripping down his face from his ear. "Oh no, I'm so sorry." She was
worried for both of them.
"What in Faranth's name is going on?" U'kaiah was so confused! One
moment he felt burning lust, the next excruciating pain, then fear of
being under attack. It was all over before he could put the pieces
together.
"I'ts Glory, she must have thought you were hurting me. Goodness
you're bleeding." She rolled to the side to grab something to help
stem the bleeding. She giggled as she scooted around him "Lie down and
let me see how bad it is." She dabbed at it a little before running
for some water and her Healer Kit.
U'kaiah couldn't figure out what as so funny as he looked over at the
chittering gold warily. His back and ear felt like they were on fire,
and he could feel the tickling sensation of warm drips rolling down his
back and neck. But he did as Tavia had instructed, pulling up his
trousers once more before laying on his stomach.
With her kit in hand she ran back and began cleaning him up dipping
her finger into her small pot of redwort she applied numbweed to the
worst of them. "I am going to have to get some help. Some of these are
deep and may need to be stitched."
_Some_ of them? Not just one or two of them? Shards, he wished he had
eyes on the back of his head! "How bad is it? Can I fight Thread?"
"I don't know," she said. "I'm a nurse not a doctor. This is beyond my
ability to call." She looked at them carefully as she worked. A couple
looked pretty deep but... no, she was going to have to call for help.
Glory had landed when her mistress began fussing over the beast. She
was confused but the emotions now flowing around her were of concern.
Her eyes whirled more orange than red as her battle lust faded. She
chirped once then settled on the covers out of reach to watch.
U'kaiah wasn't so sure that the orange in her eyes was distress for him
as much as over him. "She's not gearing up for another attack, is she?"
he asked warily.
}She _better_ not,:{ Kalamath growled from the ledge.
Glory warbled and closed in on herself creeping a little closer to
Tavia who looked at her little protector. "You made a mistake didn't
you?." she said. "Shes not going to attack again. I think she thought
you were attacking me and tried to drive you away." Tavia had learned
to be very careful of her emotions knowing the little flit was still a
baby. "For what it's worth she knows she did wrong." Tavia made an
effort to project thoughts and pictures of U'kaiah as her friend and
part of her life. She knew the little queens formed fairs that
centered upon their human partner. She needed to urge Glory to include
U'kaiah and Kalamath in her fair.
With her assurance, U'kaiah carefully pushed himself back up to his
knees. He winced when he saw the small puddle of blood he had left on
her bed sheet. Reaching up to touch his ear, he noticed the small notch
that was missing. The bronzerider sighed, wiping his fingers on his
pant leg. "I'm sorry. I really shouldn't have acted to impulsively. I
should have thought things through." There had been more than enough
willing women to satisfy his needs at Dragonsfall after all. Instead he
just had to come here, wake her up in the middle of the night, provoke
her flit, and earn himself a trip to the infirmary.
"I'll take care of that, don't worry about it," she said when she saw
him look at the blood. "U'kaiah," she said with a small smile. "I
liked where you were going... you just surprised me. This wasn't all
your fault. Ok?"
It was sweet that she was trying to comfort him, but if he ended up
being grounded for this... But he smiled to reassure her. "It _was_
going to be good." He reached out a hand for hers. "All right, healer.
Take me to your infirmary."
