}:She was_fat_!:{
S'vin giggled as his blue sighed mightily when the weyr cleaner hopped
off and went into the tunnel to do her job. **Yes, but how else is
she going to get all the way up here?**
}:She loses weight by going up the stairs?:{ Kadeth gave S'vin a look
before flying off the ledge and back down to the bowl.
**Ouch! You're more of a bitch than me; G'wen at his worst; and J'nor
at his most annoying! Though I think T'bel still has you beat**
The small blue sniffed at that and landed next to the Imalkyth, who
dwarfed him in size. Svin looked up at K'ale and asked. "can you get
enough air at that altitude?"
K'ale looked down at their class insult master and quipped, "Well you
know what rolls down hill."
S'vin looked baffled. "Uh...stones...dragon crap...anything else?
What am I missing?"
K'ale chuckled and said "Never mind, it wasn't that important." He
watched the ledges where he'd dropped off drudges for cleaning. "Where
is your new weyr going to be, S'vin?" He hadn't visited many of the
weyrlings yet.
"Ah, now that one I can answer," the tall lad said with a smile. "I'm
three over from G'wen and one over from Cardella. I can make sure
they get into trouble that way." He winked at K'ale. "You got that
big one close to us, didn't you?"
"Yes, one level up but it's pretty good sized and there are steps down
to the lower hall." Just then he saw one of the drudges waving at
them. "I think that's one of mine. We'll be back down in a moment." A
strong leap took them up the wall to the weyr and they landed lightly.
He waited while the drudge climbed up and buckled in before they
dropped off the side and glided back down into the bowl.
S'vin scanned across the bowl and noted Neath at one of the higher up
weyrs, the tiny figure of G'wen leaning beside her, no doubt waiting
for their cleaner lady to get done. Off to one side was the delicate
figure of N'den's green, looking particuly bright and pretty in the
light. N'den caught his eye and nodded, which made S'vin grin
inwardly. He was a cute boy, N'den. Maybe G'wen and Delamia were
right, maybe he should be nicer to him.
K'ale's gaze followed S'vin's and he grinned. "Romantic thoughts
already S'vin?" He just shook his head. There were an awful lot of
pretty greenriders in the Weyr but he knew his own heart wouldn't let
him just randomly bed anything that said yes.
"Me? Romantic?" S'vin looked mock shocked at that thought before
laughing. "Maybe not romantic..but that boy_does_need to lose his
virginity with a boy before that gorgous green of his Rises. And he's
easy on the eyes, it's not like it would be a hardship to do that for
him." He looked up when the odd colour that could only be Neath took
off from the Weyr and glidded across the Weyr to another room high up.
The sun was shinning through her wingsails, highlighting the unusual
deep yellow undertone of her hide. "Gosh, when did_she_get so good
looking?" He as so used to seeing her as that oversized, gawky
draonet that he hadn't really noticed they were all growing up, fast.
K'ale shook his head "Shards! I didn't mean it that way! I just meant
the kinds of thoughts you're obviously having about random greenriders
and we aren't even released yet."
S'vin tore his eyes away from Neath to eye the brown rider. "K'ale
you_were_born in the Weyr, were you not?"
"I was," he said. "I was raised to treasure my lifemate and his well
being above my own. So, I'm not getting ahead of myself just because
of physical cravings. I have the ability to control that... so I do.
Do you have a problem with that?"
"As long as you don't have an issue with someone like me wanting to
have a bit of fun." S'vin eyed him, as K'ale had been the one to
start making judgements.
Sweet Faranth the boy was touchy. Ok, he thought, time to put on the
diplomatic face he'd been learning about in his Brown/Bronze/Gold
leadership training. "I'm sorry if that came across wrong S'vin.
Sometimes it feels like its taking forever, but I know we'll be
released soon."
"It's okay." He grinned and looked back up at the skies. Neath was
still up on the higher weyrs, but another friend was missing
altogether. "Wonder where Cardella is. I haven't seen Awenth all
morning...which I hope means she's back to baking!" He grinned at that
thought. "Make a nice change from that horrible stuff Lien fosters
off on us. I swear I gave Catrien a concussion with a pastry I lobbed
at her the other day. I didn't mean to hit her head."
"Yes," K'ale agreed with a grin. He'd noticed the change himself.
They had a little more free time these days, not much. But he didn't
fall into bed completely exhausted every night any more. "I wish we
could make requests like we used to. I know she doesn't have that kind
of time but... it would be nice."
"Maybe we can build her a little bread oven just outside her weyr, on
the ledge or something. Awenth's small enough..it's not like she
needs the entire ledge, right?" He turned and smiled to N'den as his
green took off with a passenger on board. "It's nice to see he's
finially coming around."
"That might be nice though I doubt they'd let us. They like her in the
kitchens anyway so she doesn't have any problem popping in to bake now
that she has a little more time." He'd been actually making some
progress on his glass blowing and had made a vase for his mother's
birthingday. He hadn't given it to her yet but was looking forward to
the look on her face when he did. K'ale turned to watch the pretty
green sail through the sky. "Yes," he agreed even though N'den wasn't
his cup of tea. He'd set his sights recently on Rama.
Sensing his thoughts, S'vin said, "how about Rama's green? She's
about the prettiest of the whole bunch. Awenth too." He was rather
fond of the small delicate greens like Cardella's and Rama's. Long
hours had been spent by him, Catrien and G'wen, wondering what sort of
tiny, beautiful greens they'd get. How would they have known as
little Weyrbrats that the joke was on them, with S'vin now on blue,
G'wen on a massive green that was anything but delicate and poor
Catrien on nothing at all.
"She's beautiful, and so is Aine's Nalath." She was another one that
had caught his eye recently or maybe he should say she'd caught
Imalkyth's. A rumble of approval sounded from the big brown at his
comment about Nalath and K'ale chuckled. "I guess it's _his_ opinion
that counts right?"
"As long as he thinks a certain big green isn't beautiful eh?" S'vin
couldn't resist teasing K'ale, not after that talk about avoiding
Neath when she Rose.
K'ale signed knowing it would happen eventually. "Yeah."
