Description: G'wen meets a bluerider who tries to bed him, the results being
not what either boy expected or wanted
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 3, day 1 of Turn 6
G'wen checked the sky, looking for the dragons he had been assigned to
help with after the Fall. Looking up at the grey sky, he reckoned
that at least two candlemarks had passed by now, so the blue in his
little roister of charges should be coming in anytime now. More than
a few greens had already shown up and he glanced over to see S'vin
hard at work with an overtired one and her young rider.
New to the fighting wings, K'ral had finished his fall. He had gotten through
blooding and now he was just trying to become the rider he was supposed to be.
Proddenth landed and the pair of them just relished being on the ground for
a moment. Taking off his helmet, K'ral leaned back in the saddle to see the
green weyrling coming toward him. Frowning, he remembered. **That's the
one..**
"You okay?" G'wen asked when he got alongside the lithe blue. He
patted the dragon on the neck, adding, "you did well!" to the blue.
Turning back to the rider, he held his hands up to help the man out of
his straps.
Paying attention to the hands that touched him, he got out of his straps
and down to the ground. "We're fine. Proddenth doesn't have any problems.
I could use some water though." Removing his goggles, the rest of his face
was black from the ash.
"That's good." G'wen gave the dragon one last pat before getting his
bag of supplies off his back and rummaging about until he found the
flask with water. Taking the top off, he handed it to K'ral, and
smiled.
"Thanks very much," he offered as he drank, then splashed his face with it.
Taking off his flight jacket, he turned to G'wen. "How are you doing then?"
"I'm okay." G'wen shyly ducked his head down and took the man's
jacket. "How was the Fall?" He also handed him a towel to wipe his
face with.
"Hard at first, but once we settled in, it was okay." Taking it, he
did wipe off his face and the sweat from his neck. "So ah..are you
hungry? I'm starved."
"I..uh...not really but I can keep you company if you need it." G'wen
glanced at Proddenth and sent out to Neath that the dragon needed a
bath and to get some candidates ready for him. She'd sent it on to
one of the Weyrlingmasters. "Proddenth can go get his bath now,
they're ready for him."
"Oh well thank you. Yeah that would be great.." He nodded and gathered
his things into a carisak before slinging it over his shoulder. "You're...very
nice, you know." He tried to smile in a handsome way, but it came out crooked.
"Am I?" A smile tugged at the corner of G'wen's mouth. Without
questioning first, he slipped the bag off the rider's shoulder and
slung it onto his own. K'ral looked really tired.
"Yeah see you did it again..." He walked slowly with G'wen, thinking about
what to say. "So you..Neath might rise soon then?"
"Uh...she might," the boy mused it over. "You interested?"
"Proddenth is," he answered easily. "And..sure. I mean, I hope it goes well."
G'wen sighed and gave him a nervous smile. "It should..." Wanting to
think about anything but Neath's Flight, he asked, "so what's fighting
Fall like?"
"It's harder than anything else, but at the end of the day you remember you're
saving Pern and it's not so bad. And then you remember you're still
alive and you just want to go screw someone." Inadvertently realizing
what he just
said, he shut up quickly.
G'wen's eyebrows shot up at that. "I thought you'd be too tired for
all that, but..." He thought fighting Thread was tiring but then
again, what did he know? He watched K'ral out of the corner of his
eye.
"Umm..it's like the fighting coils you up into a spring....and then
when you come back, you want to do that to uncoil. Does that make sense?" He
imagined threadfall days were when the most babies were made besides
flights. "I'm tired
sure..but I think I could manage." He looked pointedly over at G'wen
then, thinking to himself.
"Oh. I suppose so." They came to an empty table which G'wen
indicated. "You want to sit down? I'll get you something to eat."
He was hoping that look didn't mean what he thought it did.
"Ah thanks," K'ral said before taking a seat. He grabbed a glass of water and
began to drink, thinking.
The smaller boy brought him back a plate of food quickly enough.
After sliding it under his nose, he sat down. "You look like you're
plotting the downfall of Amber Hills Hold or something!" he teased.
"Not quite.." K'ral took the plate and began to eat, replenishing his energy.
"Just thinking about how good you look in those trousers.."
"I do...?" G'wen stared at him, open mouthed. "I...uh...what?!"
"Mmmm..." He put another bite into his mouth. "Surely you know that...
well it's hard not to think about that and other things."
"Is it?" G'wen bit his lower lip, wondering what this guy was getting up to.
"And things? What other things?"
"Well like how good you could make me feel maybe." K'ral put a spoonful
of tubers into his mouth. "And how good I could make you feel.." **At least,
I hope**
His words were an echo of the two arses the other night at the party.
And that jerk in the baths the morning after. And one of the
weyrlings in his class. And that old troll at dinner yesterday. All
they all seemed to be concerned about was themselves and getting him
to repeat what he had done to Sh'lua.
He dropped his eyes down to the table, stating quietly, "stupid me,
and here I thought you might actually be a decent sort."
"Why am I not? Look, part of being a dragonrider is sex. It happens to
all of us. I just think it'd be better to find a good person for it to happen
with than a bad one." He shrugged, looking at his food.
"Well, from where I stand, ever since that utterly stupid thing that
happened in Sh'lua's weyr, all you blueriders seem more the bad sort
than decent. Can one of you think of anything besides what you want
me to do to you?" He frowned at the rider. "Not a one of you has been
sweet or polite or even just done something like ask me to dinner.
No, it's just all sex."
"Actually I did ask you to a meal. That's why we're sitting here now, isn't
it?" He looked back at the boy.
G'wen just gave him a look. Standing up, he asked formally, "do you
need anything else then? I need to get back to work." He wanted to
get away from this guy.
"Go ahead then. I just thought, but never mind." K'ral actually got up and
left the table himself, in search of a hot bath. He was tired of being talked
down to by a got up greenrider who hadn't even fought thread yet.
"You didn't think, that's the whole problem," G'wen told his
retreating back before he walked away himself. Blueriders!
K'ral heard it. Instead of continuing on, he turned back. Like it or not, he
outranked G'wen and it seemed the boy needed to learn something quick.
"Look little boy, in the future you need to know that it's going to happen
whether or not you want it to. It can be bad or it can be good. I was trying
to be nice. You, on the other hand, seem to think you are Faranth's gift to
greenriders and are above being called out on your snotty crap. But let me
tell you, your shite smells just as bad as everyone else's. So think about that
while I'm up there hoping I don't get myself and my dragon killed before my
next turning day." And then he walked away for good.
G'wen sunk to the nearest chair, feeling quite sick.
