T'aesh had just finished giving his brown dragonet a final rub down
after oiling. It had been a few sevendays now since Raisheth's
hatching and subsequent Impression to T'aesh, and he was growing
rapidly.

}: Thank you T'aesh. I was itching _really_ bad :{ Raisheth informed
is rider in soothed tones.

**As much as you are growing Rai, you're hide probably can't keep up
with the rest of you." T'aesh said, playfully leaning against the
brown hide.

Raisheth turned his head on his great neck to look at this hide
inquisitively, before turning an eye toward T'aesh. }: My name is
Raisheth, you know that :{ the young brown corrected, there was no
anger or disappointment in his tone, just simple statement of a fact.

**So nicknames are out of the question** T'aesh filed away.

Everyday they two of them were together, they learned more and more of
each other. Like any creature, Raisheth's personality was developing
with maturity. Though he was no where near down growing, physically
and mentally, Raisheth had already demonstrated a straight forwardness
that T'aesh appreciated. Raisheth was learning that T'aesh liked to
laugh, and though he might not understand why he was chosen life-mate
was laughing; the brown knew that laughing made T'aesh happy, so he
like the laughter too.

}:Someone is coming, a brown and his rider, looking for us. :{
Raisheth interjected into his rider's thoughts. }: A green and her
rider are also with them :{

T'aesh knew immediately who it was, and had been expecting this visit
for quite sometime. He was glad now that he had just finished oiling
down Raisheth, he wanted his dragon to look at his best for this.

** It's my parents, with Jondorth and Tiverth. ** T'aesh told
Raisheth, leading the brown out of the weyrling barracks.

}: Yes. They are excited to meet me, and very proud of you. Jondorth
says his rider has been talking of nothing else since I hatched. :{
Raisheth said, a touch of excitement coming through their bond.

Just outside the weyrling barracks, a tall man, almost identical to
young T'aesh but for maturity in his face was standing outside close
to an older brown dragon. A little ways from them, a shorter woman,
with T'aesh's eyes and the exact same skin tone walked with arms
outstretch towards him, smiling brightly, her green Tiverth already
making her way to examine the small brown Raisheth.

"Oh R'aesh, we are so proud of you. And a brown to boot. You are
definitely your father's son." Tyslan said in her airy voice. She
hugged him tightly, genuinely proud of her son though, light most
rider parents, she hadn't been extremely involved in his upbringing
once he was weaned.

T'aesh was a weyrbrat, born in the Weyr and raised by it's entire
population. His parents were too busy taking care of their own
dragons, fighting thread and doing their duty to give their time
exclusively to their child. T'aesh didn't mind though, his parents
never forgot his Birthingday, and were always there if he needed them.
They made time for him, when time was available and that was all that
he could ask of them.

He smiled down at his mother, always fond of her, and leaned down to
give her a kiss. His father stood slightly to the side, and simply
nodded in recognition and appreciation of what T'aesh was now. Brag
to the rest of the Weyr about his brownrider son he might, but never
to T'aesh's face.

}: He is proud of you, they both are. :{ Raisheth said.

**I know it dear-heart** T'aesh replied. **Would you mind stepping
over here, so they can look at you and meet you formally?**

Raisheth obliged without a word, always willing to be admired.

"My what a fine young brown we have here." Tysalen said, walking
around Raisheth. "And quite big too. He'll be on the larger end for
a brown or I'm no rider" she said. "And both you handsome boys will
be chasing greens and their riders around for sure." she said, giving
her son a mischievous grin. Look like his father he did, but he
definitely got his sense of humor from his mother.

His father also walked around Raisheth, nodding every few steps, his
hands clasped tightly behind his back. Once had had took a turn about
Raisheth twice, he walked over to T'aesh and placed on hand on his
shoulder. R'aesh was definitely not a hugger.

"Proud of you boy" he said, in a strong baritone voice, that sometimes
caught people off guard. You expected a rough voice from someone so
stoic, not this rich baritone that mad every word almost seem
singsong. "Proved yourself to Janani and N'vanik after that whole
mess with Meledei, and now you've proven to all of Pern you were born
to be a rider." R'aesh said, squeezing his son's shoulder. He nodded
one more time in approval, before walking back to his waiting dragon.
"See you in the skies son." he called over his shoulder.

"Well" Tysalen's voice interrupted "That man usually has the emotions
of a mountain." she said, just as shocked as T'aesh by what just
happened. "He's really proud of you. And so am I. Come, let's go
get something to eat hmm? Last time I saw you, you were just Taeshin,
now you're T'aesh, my first and only son, and a rider now. We have a
lot to talk about." the chatty greenrider said, ushering her still
shocked son to the Dining Cavern.

}: Told you he was proud :{ Raisheth said not trying to hide the
smugness in his tone at all.
