}:My rider will need somewhere to go soon,:{ Onnyth told Neath, her tone
making it clear what was coming next. }:She says that she cannot go to our
weyr, and needs a place to be alone with her harper.:{ the gold paused for a
moment, much as her rider had as she had spoken to the gold. }:Could they
use your weyr? My rider says she will repay the favour when she can.:{

}:Mine said okay but this better be good:{

}:Tell your rider it's about love.:{

}:He wants to know what's that?:{

}:Tell him it's important to our riders that they rise and mate
themselves,:{ that was the gold's understanding of the matter.

}:He's just laughing, I don't know why. But he said come on up, just
change the sheets when she's done?:{

"I know somewhere we can go," she said softly. "If you want to, that is?"

"I..uh, yes, sure. You okay with this? I mean, I don't want to push
you or rush you or anything...." He pulled back to look at her
closely. She was so unlike the girls he had grown up with.

"You aren't rushing me." She looked up at him. "I want to be with you."

At that he all but crushed her to him, kissing her deeply, letting her
know just how he felt about her. Pulling back, he looked deeply into
her unusual light brown eyes. "You're really beautiful, you know."

"See if you still say that later on," she teased gently.

"Why, do your eyes change colour or something?" he teased, walking
alongside her.

"When my hair is messy, and yours is too," she continued her tone still
light as she led the way to G'wen's weyr. "And what if you realise I snore?"

"Not as bad as I do! Plus my breath is shocking in the morning!"
They started to climb the steps up to the top of the Weyr.

"But you'll still look good to me."

"I just won't smell too good." He gave her his best cheeky grin and
squeezed her to his side as they emerged from the stairwell and
started to walk down the hallway.

"I'm sure we'll both be fine."

"We just might at that." He shivered as they stopped at the door to
the weyr. Pointing at it, he asked, "is there anyone on the other
side?"

"I think we'll be okay," but even so, she opened it carefully, making enough
noise to give G'wen a hint he should get out.

Daran stepped around behind her, taking in the weyr, never having seen
one before. "Who lives here, the place is immaculate!" It had to be
a girl, no man would be this tidy.

"G'wen," she said, a mischievous grin on her face. "It was the only place I
could think of."

He shook his head and resisted the urge to shudder. "Greenriders are
a different breed of men, aren't they?" He swallowed down the sick
feeling he felt at the idea of using this guy's bed and... "He 'use'
that much, d'you think?" He pointed to the bed.

"Only for sleeping," she said.

"How do you know?" He eyed the bed nervously.

"He's a weyrling still, they aren't allowed relationships for a good while."

That wouldn't be so bad then. Only sleeping happened there, nothing
worse. Okay, he could do this. Just focus on Tes. Glancing about,
he mused aloud, "wonder if he's got anything to drink in here."

"I think he may have some wine," she said, hoping that was the case, it
might relax Daran a little, but not too much.

He rummaged about the counter until he found three bottles of wine.
Two looked too good to drink; greenrider or not, he wasn't about to
face the wrath of that boy if he so much as opened those, so it was
the third one that he pulled out. "I don't think he'd mind losing
this one so much. Maybe that's the first nice thing I can do to tell
him I'm sorry for being a Holder arse, by replacing this bottle. This
okay?" He held up the red.

"Red is good."

He pored the wine into two glasses and handed her one before sitting
down beside her, feeling as shy as a boy on his first date. He took a
sip and shook his head. "This is not only cheap but I think it's been
sitting around awhile."

"It's not brilliant is it, but the wine isn't why we're here," she said,
taking her glass and putting it down before taking his from him. "Show me
how you feel."

"Okay." He stood up and held out his hand. "Come here then." The
bed was only a few feet away.

She took it, and led him there. "Kiss me," she said as she leaned into him.

And he did. Gently at first, just teasing her lips, then sliding his
tongue over her lower one, sucking it into his mouth, tasting her.
Then deeper and deeper, showing her just what he wanted to do with her
body in his. Slowly he moved down into the bed, her under him, until
they lay upon the soft sheets. He caressed her shoulder, her breast,
her hip with his hand and asked for her silently to spread her legs.

That this was worth waiting for was the last conscious thought to run
through her head before she gave herself to Daran.

~*~ Some time later ... ~*~

She lay next to him, gently running a hand up and down his chest. "You were
wonderful," she said. "I mean it."

He kissed her forehead and, laughing, moved down to her eyes then her
nose, then deeply kissed her mouth.

"I love you."

It was out before he could censor himself; before he could stop it, do
the things guys typically did. I love you, he had said. His heart
pounded, waiting for her to say something, anything. Waiting to be
rejected.

"I," she paused before looking into his eyes to see if he really meant those
words. "Do you mean that?" she asked.

"I..." His eyes looking into hers said, please love me, please don't
reject me. "I do."

"I needed to hear that," she said, before kissing him. "Because I think I'm
falling in love with you too," she said after the kiss broke.

"Oh Tes..." He kissed her as deeply as he could, his body responding
for more love making. "I love you."

"Me too," she whispered. Even as she said that, he hands were exploring his
body, learning how his muscles felt, how he reacted to each caress.

This was something he could never get tired of, he thought, sighing,
as she touched him everywhere.
