Teseada

Teseada

A hot bath, a nice massage and a bandage changing was G'wen's idea of
bliss. He had just come back to his weyr and was half asleep after
having had just that when there was a knock at the door. Blinking
himself awake and sitting up on the bed, he yelled out, "come on in!"

He tucked his bathing robe tighter around him, expecting S'vin to come
bounding through the door.

"You decent?" Teseada slowly came into the greenrider's weyr, a tray
balanced in her arms. "I thought you might appreciate something to eat."

"Oh, you're lovely!" The boy perked up at that and grinned at his
friend. "I could eat something." He patted the bed beside him with
his good hand.

"I brought up some meat rolls," Teseada said, as she sat down and lifted a
cloth from the top of it.

"No sweets?" he asked plaintively. Truth be told, his appetite wasn't
fully back yet and it showed in his thinner than normal frame and in
eyes that looked even more prominent on his face, if that was
possible. Sweets went down easier than meat and tubers.

"I think Ma put a bubbly pie in there as well."

"Brilliant." G'wen reached for it. "She's been taking good care of
me these last few sevendays." S'vin and T'bel had been good about
bringing up treats from her, and from his fostermother, since the
'Scoring.

"Hey," Teseada said, softly moving his hand to the meatrolls. "Ma said I
needed to make sure you ate at least one meatroll before you started on the
sweeties."

He groaned and took the still steaming meat roll. "So what's the
lastest gossip? It's too hard walking down all those steps." Being
weyr-bound was getting a tad old but he was still to weak to be able
to ride Neath.

"Dassa and G'van had a huge row in the dining cavern. She threatened parts
of his anatomy if he ever came close to her again."

"She'd have a hard time finding the said parts," he told her with a
silly grin. "Jesaren once said it was as small as his bronze is big."

"Well I wouldn't know about that, and I'm not sure I want to. Not after she
accused him of not knowing what to do in bed."

"Well, it_is_rather hard to know what to do in bed if you can't find
certain boys bits..." He winked at her and grinned a bit evilly.

"I've never had the problem of finding the bits, it's just the brains that
try and work the bits that cause the issues."

"That's because boy bits and brains to two mutually incompatible
parts." He waggled a finger at her and then took the opportunity to
make a grab for the sweet.

She moved the tray away. "Meatroll first, remember!"

He pulled a face before picking the half eaten roll back up. "So what
else have I miss since laying half dead and all that."

"Vekka told me something, but you have to promise not to tell anyone."

"I swear on Neath's hide." He held his hand over his heart before
leaning in for some juicy gossip.

"She said that W'lad asked her to move in and be her weyrmate." The
goldrider paused, "But, she's pregnant and not sure it is his."

G'wen laughed outloud at that. "Welcome to Dragonsfall! No wonder
holder-types like N'den about flipped their wigs when they got here."

"There's more than enough material for a few good Harper tales in this
place," Teseada laughed too.

"Speaking of...what ever happened to you and your harper?" He took
the chance to quickly snatch the sweet and take a bite before she
could protest.

"We're talking again," she admitted slowly. "I don't know if we can fix
things, but we want to try."

"Yeah, what's been going on? He apologize to you?" He couldn't help
the annoyed tone in his voice as, the last time he had seen Daran,
the harper wasn't exactly a nice guy. More like Holder trash, if he
was allowed to have an opinion on it.

"He did, and I apologised to him. And now we have to see where we go next."

"Hmm..." He looked sceptical about that. "And it doesn't bother you
that he's so prejudice?"

"That's one of the things we need to talk about," she said slowly.

"Oh?" He put the sweet down and looked at her, wondering what he had
said wrong. After all, he hadn't been the jerk on that day.

"Daran knows he has to learn a few things about weyrlife."

"Just a few things?" He narrowed his eyes at her.

"To start with," she said. "He needs to deal with this a bit at a time."
She knew the Harper would have to work out if he could come to terms with
the facts of weyrlife on his own, particularly when he realised what her
riding Onnyth meant.

At that G'wen sighed and laid back on the bed. "It's been a long
day..wanna cuddle?"

"I could do with a hug," she said, carefully lying down next to him.

"Couldn't we all." With his good arm, he held her close to his chest.
"Couldn't we all..."
