Description: Villith and Nidogath visit up on the Rim.
Location: River Bluff Weyr
Date: month 6, day 19 of Turn 6
}:Did your rider just oil you? You're very shiny today,:{ Nidogath
observed as he settled onto the warm stones next to her. Ah yes, that
hit the spot.
}:My rider always makes sure I look my best. I have to be a good
example for the hatchlings:{ Villith answered as she noticed the
blue. He was handsome. Young, but handsome.
}:Well, you look very pretty,:{ he assured her. The little blue wasn't
much of a flirt, but he did like to throw compliments around from time
to time. }:Do you have enough space?:{
}:I am fine:{ Villith admitted, happy to be under the sun and its
warmth. }:You have not been fighting thread long:{ she observed,
moving her head to examine his muscles.
He craned his head, trying to see what she was looking at. }:Not for as
long as some, but longer than others.:{
}:You're still alive though. That's good. So how's your flying?:{ Only
the best could fly with her. Villith liked to go fast. She liked to
dive, dip, and turn. Most didn't stand a chance to her way of thinking.
}:I fly well enough to still be alive. If I didn't, I wouldn't be here
to talk to you,:{ he said, employing a large dose of logic to his reply.
Rebuffed at such an obvious answer without much thought put
to it, Villith snorted and stopped checking Nidogath out. He'd just
ended his interview.
The little blue was always cheerful and never daunted. }:The weather is
so warm today. After I get all warm, I think I shall splash around in
the water. Do you like the water?:{
Fortunately for him, he'd said the right thing. }:I love the water. One
of the reasons why I let my rider bring me here:{ She played in it with
the hatchlings sometimes.
}:I hope my little grey swimming friends will be there today. I like to
watch them jump.:{ When he was little more than a Hatchling he had
tried to jump once himself, but it hadn't gone well. He never tried
again after that, though sometimes he couldn't remember why.
}:The shipfish are fun. They talk to me sometimes though what they
say doesn't always make sense:{ Villith thought they were too happy,
for one. Then again if all she had to do was play in the water all day,
she'd be happy too.
}:I like listening to them sing when I put my head under the water.
It's not pretty, but it's interesting. I guess they are talking to each
other then.:{ Like wherries or avians talked to each other. He
couldn't understand anything they said, of course.
}:I've heard the little cousins sing sometimes:{ Villith thought of the
firelizards that were always around the Weyr. She didn't mind the
creatures though she knew some dragons did.
}:Yes, but at least I can understand them.:{ He didn't know if they had
a language, but they showed him pictures sometimes, and shared with him
their feelings.
}:Nidogath I believe I will be nice and allow you my presence. Don't
move:{ With that, the green shuffled herself along the ridge and came
closer to him so that she could easily lean her head on his side.
Villith closed her many eyelids and proceeded to take a nap in the sun.
The little blue did as he was told, as he usually did, and stayed as
perfectly still as long as he could. It was the least he could do for a
new friend.
