"Oh my oh my, would you look at_that_!" S'vin not so subtly nudged
Daret next to him and nodded to the all too handsome bronze rider who
just walked into the Dinning Hall. It had been a long day in drills
and he had rather unwisely had a pint--or two--before eating dinner.
The two glasses stood empty, the plate of food forgotten, as he openly
stared at the handsome black haired man. "I love my Kadeth...trust me
I do. But what I wouldn't give to be a greenrider every once in
awhile...."
Pushing his stew around since he wasn't all that hungry, Daret looked
up to see what S'vin was looking at and bit his lower lip. "Oh my is
right," he sighed, setting his chin on his palm and elbow on the
table. "I'll tell you all about him once I do."
There was no doubt in his mind that he'd Impress a green. Anything
else was unthinkable and as the bronzerider finally sat down with his
back to him, he groaned as the mans trousers pulled tightly across a
very shapely rump. "Mmmm, may have to be sooner than that. Think
he'd be interested at all?" he asked with a twinkle in his dark blue
eyes as he looked at S'vin.
"He's a bronze rider, what d'ya think?" S'vin thraped him over the
head. He had yet to see any bronze boy so much as sniff at a boy
before. It just didn't happen. Not that he couldn't dream a bit
about it though. Or admire... "Nice bottom...he may have been
involved in G'wen's Flight. We'll have to ask that little prude just
how close did he get to disrobing." He grinned and winked at Daret.
"I'm thinking he'd be a might rough because he wouldn't want it but
deep down, he'd enjoy himself," Daret answered with a confidence only
an experienced lover could possess. Oh, he knew he'd give the rider
the ride of his life but Faranth forbid he ever get the chance unless
it was during a flight his green was involved in. "A boy can dream,
can't he?"
At the mention of G'wen, Daret grinned back. "Oh yes, we'll have to
ask. Bet G'wen never even saw a chest hair ..."
S'vin nodded sagely. "Bet he saw a bit more than that. After all,
Neath loves the bronzes." He stared hard at the rider in question and
sighed, bitterly disappointed that he'd never know what it was like to
have a green in Flight.
Having taken a bite of his stew, Daret looked at S'vin and chewed
slowly as the bluerider sighed. "What's wrong?" he asked after
swallowing. Looking back at the bronzerider, the conclusions he drew
to were too far-fetched to contemplate. "Do you have feelings for
yonder bronzerider?"
"Honey, I've got feelings for all the bronze boys." He sighed and
looked at Daret. "They're all just so bloody beautiful! And I'll
never have a one of them." He looked sad at that.
It clicked then, what the problem was. Being a bluerider, S'vin would
never be involved with a bronzerider during a flight. Daret felt bad
for S'vin but wouldn't rub in the fact that Daret still had that
opportunity. "Just think of the alternative … you'd have to put up
with their egos every second of every day," he said with a small
shudder. "There's got to be a greenrider that is just as beautiful.
Or crafter … or candidate." His sly yet innocent grin was completely
suggestive as his foot slid over to nudge his.
The older boy knew exactly what he was hinting at. "Oh, don't you go
there, girlfriend. I like my men looking like men. Pretty little
things like you and G'wen can just go find someone else." He gave
Daret a pinch and a small slap on the cheek.
Pouting for about two seconds, Daret then burst out laughing, unfazed
by the fact that others looked over to see what was so funny.
"Pretty, I'll take that," he said with a wrinkle of his nose. "So
beautiful to you is … him," he said as he pointed to a beastcrafter in
the corner. A bit messy, he was muscular with beefy hands and then
the man looked up. Daret winced at the crooked nose and broken front
tooth. "Err, nevermind …"
"No beautiful to me is..." And he nodded to a more appropriate
choice, a tall bluerider that was more muscle than brains. He would
know, as he had been with the man on several occasions. "He's good
too..." S'vin winked at Daret.
Swiveling to see who S'vin pointed at, Daret's mouth dropped open and
eyebrows rose in surprise. "Ooohhhh ... do tell!" he fairly squeaked
as he eyed the man speculatively. He could definitely see himself
with the bluerider. Glancing at S'vin, he wondered if the man ever
got jealous. They were instructed to keep those feelings from
overwhelming them since it would hurt a young dragon but he had to
admit that it occurred ... once in a while. "S'vin, would you share?"
"Like he belongs to anyone! He's a right hussy, that one. You don't
need my permission!" He grinned and shook his head at the younger
boy. He saw him as handing him his mantle from his won candidate days
where he had slept with most of the blueriders, so sure he was going
to be a greenrider. Giving Daret a knowing look, he placed one hand
on the edge of the table and the other one a good foot away, adding,
"he starts here and finishes here, if you get my meaning."
Daret blinked before he laughed loud enough that some around them
looked over to see what was so funny. Had they known what he was
thinking, they'd be chuckling, too. "That's quite ... long," he
managed to get out before laughing again. Here Daret was thinking
that S'vin wouldn't let the man go and he was instead offering him up
on a silver platter. "Who is he?"
"N'ki. But I have to warn you, his brains are as small as the rest of
him is big. But if you're looking for a nice evening, then he's your
man." At that S'vin took a bit out of his food and sighed. "I miss
Cardella's cooking. Ah well."
Looking N'ki over, Daret decided then and there to try to gain his
attention. But would the bluerider be interested? Only time would
tell. Catching S'vin's sigh and comment, he glanced back to ask with
a touch of surprise since he had thought S'vin was exclusively a
boy-lover, "Who's Cardella?"
"You don't remember Cardella? She was a candidate with us last turn,
small girl, always hanging out with G'wen." He gave Daret a strange
look.
Daret frowned as he tried to remember the girl S'vin was talking
about. "Oh ... her? Well, how was I to remember? She's a *girl*,"
he said with a roll of his eyes and a slight shudder before taking
another bite of stew. "This isn't so bad. I've tasted worse. Is
there anyone else around here who's caught your eye?"
S'vin sighed and glanced around before fixing his eyes on Daret. "Nah,
believe it or not, I think I'm gonna go to my weyr all alone for
once."
"Say it isn't so!" Daret gasped, nearly choking on the stew he had to
swallow quickly. What was the man thinking?! "It's bad enough that I
have to go to bed alone but you … no, you shouldn't have to. But, I
suppose if you *want* to ..." he teased.
"I do," the taller boy said firmly. Giving Daret a pat on the head as
he stood up, he added, "if you see G'wen--or Cardella or even
Catrien--can you tell him and the girls I turned in early tonight?
Drills were a bitch today."
Grimacing at the pat on the head, Daret lightly slapped the hand away
then waved. "Yea, I'll tell 'em what a wuss you've turned into," he
answered, not wanting to think about how hard drills will be once he'd
Impressed. He'd rather pretend obliviousness and enjoy his evening.
Finishing his stew, he got up to put the bowl away and caught the eye
of a nicely put together crafter. Guess his evening would be pleasant
after all.
