Arranging A Trade

Location: Vintner Hall

Arzel spotted Chupsin and nodded in greeting. The Journeyman Healer
was a regular visitor to the Hall, though he usually was spotted
around Keayd. "Chupsin, it's good to see you. Are you here on
business?" He wondered if someone was hurt or ill and the Hall's
healers needed a hand or if this was simply a social call for the
healer.

"Ah hello. Sort of. I was going to see if I could barter for a bottle
of the grapeseed oil you produce. It's useful stuff." Then he was
going to the tavern for a sip.

"I have a bit, if you don't want to keep looking for some. How much
are you needing?"

"Well... a few would keep me from having to come back for a bit."
Chupsin didn't know how many they had. "Depends on how large
the bottles are."

"Well, I have several eight ounce bottles, ten or more, if I remember
right. If you need more than that, I'm sure I can get it."

"Ah no, a case will do me. I won't be able to carry more than that
anyway." On his shoulder, Tourniquet's whirling eyes were looking
at the environs around them. The little bronze was quiet, though.
"What can I offer you in exchange?"

"Do you have anything for muscle aches?"

"Not with me, but I've several options back at the Hold. Would you be
wanting liniment then?" Some used that, others just used numbweed to
get rid of the pain. Chupsin preferred the former.

"A liniment will do, yeah. I'm not hurt. Just want something for days
when I over do it."

"How much do you think you'll need?" He had plenty of jars of the stuff,
but he did have to keep a supply since there were a lot of holders who swore
by it. Chupsin made quite a trade on that particular remedy.

"Three jars should do for a while," Arzel replied after some consideration.

"I'll have to send an apprentice over with them, but I think that's
fair certainly." **Great, that was easy. I'll have to remember this fellow
in future**

"Excellent. Follow me and I'll get that grapeseed oil for you," the
Vintner beckoned for the Healer to follow and led the way to his
quarters where he had a storage closet filled with bottles of liquors
and other non-perishable paraphernalia for sale and trade.

Looking inside the closet, Chupsin made a mental catalogue. Indeed, this
fellow could be useful. He could already see a few things he wouldn't mind
trading for. Standing, there he tried his best to remain relaxed as he looked
around the man's quarters.

Arzel peered into his cupboard for a moment and then spotted two
pre-packed cases of the oil he was looking for, as well as a few extra
bottles of it sitting beside them. He picked up one of the cases and
turned to hand it to Chupsin. "Here you go."

"Hmmm I wonder if I can carry that far enough..." He hefted it experimentally
and decided he could probably manage. "I think so. Umm..will you be here then
if I send my apprentice over with the liniment?" He had some scented with mint.
It was good stuff.

"I should be. I have some record keeping to do, it should keep me here
for the rest of the day." He had jotted notes on his various infusions
as well as various liquors in various stages of fermenting and
distilling that he needed to update. Also, he glanced back into his
cupboard, he probably ought to do another inventory while he was at
it. "I'll look for your boy then. If he arrives late, he can stay
over? There'll be extra beds in the dorms, he can use one."

"The walk isn't that far, but I appreciate the offer." As it was Chupsin had no
intention of sending an apprentice in the evening. Too many wild animals and
_other_ things lurking. "Thanks, this is going to be very useful."

Arzel nodded, "Let me know if you need more. I don't have much use for
the stuff myself." It was part of his due for the work he did helping
with the wine-making, but the oil had been sitting in his cupboard
taking up space for a while now. "I'll walk you out."
