Aishara

Aishara

The bluerider hadn't purposefully following Aishara. They just happened
to be walking in the same direction. He had deliberately slowed his
pace so as not to catch up with her. It was always awkward for him to
talk to women he met in a Flight room and hadn't met so much outside of
it. With men he seemed to do all right, but with women, he just felt
like a lecherous wretch. **Remember me? I had my hand between your
thighs that one time... You look different with clothes on!**

He had meant to just let her go his way and he'd go his, but then
something dropped out of her pocket unnoticed and it caused D'cal to
stop dead in his tracks. What should he do? He looked around, but saw
no one who might do the right thing for him. His lips pursed slightly
before he bent down to pick it up.

"Um, excuse me, Aishara," he called, remembering the greenriders name.
And what she looked like with her clothes of. It was a sharding pretty
sight. "Um... You dropped this, I think."

"Oh, thank you, D'cal," her hand went automatically into her pocket. "It
must be dad's letter. I would have certainly missed it."

"Oh, well, good then. I'll just give it back to you I guess." He gave
her a tentative smile as he held the letter out for her to take.

"Thank you," Aishara took the letter and rewarded him with a pretty
smile.
"How have you been?"

"Good! Busy. You know with drills and all." To tell the truth, it
seemed little else was happening in his life as of late _other_ than his
duties. "You? How have you been?"

"The same, drill, drill, Fall, some more drills," Aishara said with a
shrug of her shoulders.

"Yeah, there are lots of drills lately." **Smooth, D'cal. Real
smooth.** "So, uh, where are you going now?"

"To meet a friend for a lilttle girl-talk," Aishara replied.

"Oh. Boys then?" he asked, both relieved and disappointed that he had
no reason to be joining her.

"Well, the subject is bound to come up eventually," Aishara replied with
a straight face. Two greenriders, what else they would be talking about?

"Well, I suppose it's only fair. We talk about girls, too." Shells,
she wasn't exactly making this any easier on him. Change of topic was
definitely needed. There was one safe topic every dragonrider loved to
talk about. "How is your green, by the way."

"Just fine. You missed her latest mating flight," Aishara replied with a
smile. "You two be chasing a lot?"

D'cal blushed slightly. "Here and there. I'm surprised Aosorath would
have missed her Flight. I know he more than happy the last time. Maybe
we were on sweeprides that day or something."

"Maybe so. There's plenty of green flight going on all the time,"
Aishara said. "I don't always even take note who is chasing this time."

"But you noticed Aosorath didn't chase?" he asked, wondering if that
meant anything. What exactly it _could_ mean, he wasn't sure, but it
still intrigued him.

"I did notice that," Aishara admitted. She wasn't even sure why. Suppose
she rather liked D'cal.

"Oh." That brought a small smile to his face. At least from her
reaction, he didn't get the feeling he had done anything to scare her
off. "Well, I will have to try to make sure he's free for your next
Flight, then."

"We would like that, Auymith and I," a little bit of flirt had appeared
to her voice.

His small smile turned into a shy grin. **I think she might like
me...** "Well, then, we'll be in it to win."

"Good. Now, I better go on, before she starts to wonder if I got lost in
the hallways," Aishara said.

"Oh yes. I forgot you have your appointment to talk about boys with
your friend." D'cal, feeling bold from the flirtatious tone that had
crept into her voice before, leaned a little close. "If my name happens
to come up during your conversation, well, I certainly wouldn't mind."

"We'll see what comes up," she replied with mysterious tone.

"Would you tell me if it did?" he asked, batting his eyelashes slightly.

"That depends," Aishara couldn't resist teasing him.

He knew she was having fun, and frankly, so was he. Crossing his arms
over his chest he gave her a suspicious look. "On what, exactly?"

"Of what we talk about you," Aishara said.

"That's true. You might just want to tell your friend about how some
clumsy bluerider wouldn't leave you alone in the corridors." His face
turned thoughtful. **What do you think, time to be bold?**

}:Why not? Auymith likes me,:{ Aosorath said, radiating confidence to
his lifemate.

D'cal stood a little straighter and said, "Now you will _have_ to tell
me if my name comes up. Maybe tomorrow over lunch?"

"Maybe, but now I really have to run," Aishara wasn't exactly promising
anything.

"All right, I'll see you tomorrow on the red blanket down on the beach
next to the big driftwood log." He gave a helpless shrug, knowing
whether she kept the appointment or not was completely up to her. "You
know, that way if you don't show I don't have to explain why I'm saving
a seat for thin air."

"That would be awkward," Aishara said and with a grin and waive left,
hurrying along the corridor.

D'cal waved and watched the greenrider walk down the corridor, letting
out a deep breath as she turned out of sight. "Alright," he said,
letting it out in long sigh. He wasn't sure if this was a good idea or
not, considering his luck. But what was it the ancients always said?
Nothing ventured, nothing gained?
