Cinale

Cinale

Berjahir wandered about the kitchen. It wasn't a place he had been to very much, even in all his years here. But he wanted to find Cinale, and this is where she would be. **Should have sent for her** he thought. He usually preferred to speak to people in his offices, but even he knew better then to drag a cook out of the kitchen around meal times.

And it was quite busy! The kitchens were bustling with drudges -
though perhaps they weren't really _bustling_. It was more like they were all performing an intricate sort of dance as they twisted around each other, going from one sink to one oven, from one table to another counter... And there was Cinale, leading them all from her position by the hearth. Spotting the man who seemed so out of place amongst the whirlwind of careful but swift movement surrounding him, she grinned slightly, caught his eye and gestured him over.

Berjahir breathed a sigh of relief as he caught sight of Cinale. He was even more relieved when he saw she had noticed him. He tread ed carefully through the busy busy kitchen works, making his way over towards Cinale.

"What can I do for you today, Berjahir?" she asked once he'd reached her side.

"Ahhh, thank you Cinale," Berjahir said while glancing around. He so _wished_ they could be in private, the rabble of the kitchens was quite an annoyance. "I was wondering if you could help me with something. I was curious if you had any menial tasks that an errant apprentice or two could do?"

A grin spread across her face. "Always. What did the imps do now?"

"Well," Berjahir harrumphed. "It appears that some of them are generous enough to allow others to do their work."

Cinale's good humored grin turned into a frown. "Uh oh."

"Which is why assigning more work wouldn't be a suitable punishment. So I'm trying to think of some alternatives, and I like the idea of showing them some of the jobs they _could_ be doing if they don't stick with their craft." He laughed at the cleverness of his thought. "Or at least the messier side of such jobs."

"I'll let them deal with the meat; plucking, washing, cutting... Sound messy enough for the imps, Berjahir?"

"It sounds delightful Cinale. I thank you, for your help in this matter," he said with a bow of his head. "I shall let you know before I send you any apprentices. And you let me know _immediately_ if they give you the slightest bit of trouble of course?"

"Of course."

"Well then, I won't keep you from your domain any longer Cinale."
Berjahir said quickly excusing himself and making his way out of the noisome kitchens.
