Three Boys

Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 11, day 13 of Turn 6

Jykri spotted G'wen and S'vin at one of the tables. He couldn't help a
slight blush thinking about what he and S'vin had done. Deciding to
join them, the Candidate walked over and set down his tray. "Hi."

"Hey, you sexy boy." S'vin patted the seat beside him, a salacious
grin on his face.

G'wen rolled his eyes, feeling bad for the candidate. "Hey Jykri." The
seat beside him was empty as well, giving the boy a choice between the
two young riders.

Jykri considered his options for a moment before taking the seat next
to G'wen. "Sorry S'vin. I need to eat and you're ... very
distracting."

"Yes, I am better looking, aren't I?" S'vin fanned himself whilst
G'wen rolled his eyes.

Jykri made a show of studying them both before saying diplomatically,
"You're both quite handsome. I'm more worried about your hands."

"My hands?" S'vin held them before his face. "What's wrong with my
hands. I thought you liked what they can do--"

"So you ready for the Hatching?" G'wen pipped up, trying to spare
Jykri any more embarrassment.

"More than ready. Nervous, too, though," Jykri said between one bite
and the next.

"I bet," S'vin muttered, remembering the feeling when Neath had come
so close to choosing him and the helpless feeling standing there
alone, waiting. Just waiting.

"Did either of you Impress your first time?" Jykri asked.

"I did!" G'wen smirked at S'vin and blew him a kiss.

"I didn't." S'vin gave the two boys a sour look. "In fact I was out
there for turns before Kadeth found me. In fact I thought Neath was
going to choose me, she was so close to me. Thank Faranth she
didn't." He mocked whipped his brow whilst G'wen threw his bread at
him.

"They do say the dragons know, so she knew you weren't the right one."
Jykri sipped his drink before taking another bite.

"Makes you wonder what Kadeth was thinking," G'wen said.

S'vin stuck his tongue out at him and threw the bread roll back.

"You fight like siblings." Jykri laughed.

"We've known each other as far back as we can remember," S'vin said.

"That would explain it. Do you have any siblings?" He looked between them.

"Loads of foster siblings, if that's what you mean." G'wen said.
"How about you?"

"I have a little brother and a bunch of sisters." Jykri fiddled with
the last bit of food on his plate. "I miss them." He wondered what
Kisaline and his other sisters were doing now.

"We'll, Impress a nice little green and we'll see about fixing that."
S'vin leaned over the table to give him a look that said just how much
he'd enjoy a Flight with him.

"Blue. If I Impress anything, it'll be blue." Jykri smiled. And if he
didn't Impress, well ... his sister was right. The Weyr was where he
belonged.
