Tholath blinked out of /between/ with his rider, P'lon, and a very startled and shaken up pair, consisting of Illiana (who had never seen a dragon before that very day - let along traveled /between/) and her turn old canine. Illiana clung to her furry companion with one arm and to P'lon with the other. The blue slowly made his decent to the ground, and Illiana let out her breath with a gasp when they landed, not realizing that she had been holding it that whole time.

Taking in a few quick gasps she didn't hear P'lon talking to her until he repeated himself. "You can let go now dear." He said sweetly.

"Oh sorry." Illiana apologized as she let go of the bluerider and climbed down from the dragon with P'lon's help. He handed her her carisak which she slung over her shoulder. "Thank-you very much, sir."

"Not a problem little miss, now you'll have to go into the lower caverns, he gently turned the young woman and pointed in the right direction. Once inside just ask one of the workers for directions to the Headwoman's office." He flashed a smile at Illiana and climbed back onto Tholath's back. "Good luck at the Hatching! I'll be watching for you!"

Illiana waved to the rider and his dragon and looked across the weyr bowl, taking a deep breath and giving Dasha, her canine, the command to heel as she made her way to the lower caverns.

Solieira was standing over a table of hides off to the side in the lower caverns. Any number of riders would point out the tall, kindly looking woman who was still lovely enough for a woman of her turns. She glanced up just then with a smile at a passing rider, and grabbed her klah mug, noticing an unfamiliar young woman stepping into view.

"Excuse me miss, but are you the Headwoman?" Illiana asked, not in a shy manner but very politely, she felt very strong on making the first impression a good one.

Sol smiled at the young woman, her eyes warm and lit from within. "I am that redoubtable female, lass." She wasn't that young, to Sol's aged eyes, but still, new to the Weyr made for new adjustments. "My name is Solieira, and I'm assuming you're newly Searched? I believe that was P'lon's blue I saw outside, hmm? Welcome to River Bluff! Come and sit. " She waved to a chair at the table.

Illiana took the offered seat and set her carisak on the floor beside her, Dasha knew what to do and lay down at her masters' side. "Yes that was P'lon's Blue, Tholath. Wonderful pair." She smiled warmly at the Headwoman. "And it is a pleasure to meet you, my name is Illiana, and this is Dasha." She pointed to the friendly canine who'se tongue was lolling out of her mouth.

Solieira chuckled down at Dasha. "Hmm.. and are you going to be after my bubbly pies like all the other canines, youngling?" Simple brown eyes turned back to up to regard Illiana. "Welcome to River Bluff, lass. Let's just go get you settled then, shall we?" The Headwoman rose to her feet, still graceful despite her turns. "I've candidate robes for you and some other things, plus I'll show you to the barracks where you and Dasha will make your homes."

"Oh that would be wonderful, and I hope I'm not out of line here, but I will have lots of questions for you. As I've never been to a Weyr before." She said a bit shyly then quickly added, "oh and I assure you that Dasha will never be any problem, she is quite well trained, one of my brothers trained her and he specializes in canines at the BeastCraft Hall."

"Is that where you're from then?" Sol asked curiously. "And never been to a Weyr? Ask all the questions you like, lass." The Headwoman led the way out of the caverns and toward the Candidate barracks.

"Born and raised, Headwoman, and I'd never been to the South until recently, came to visit a brother of mine for his espousal. It really is quite lovely here; the heat is something else though! Is it always like this?" She wondered out loud. "Oh and I'm not exactly sure how everything works here, in respect to duties, meal times, rules . . ." She paused to think if there was anything else but couldn't for the time being.

"You'll learn, lass. The rules are common sense, for the most part. You have clases and chores for the days, and then in the evenings a bit of free time. If you've come from the Beastcraft, you might want to look in on our stables and offer a hand. They're quite busy just now. If so, I'll re-arrange your chores schedule and that can be what you do. Come along now and I'll fill you in on the rules." They arrived at the barracks then, and Sol waved her on ahead. "Go on in, get settled on an empty bunk and I'll join you in a moment. I'm going to fetch you a Candidate's robe, although it will be little while until the next Hatching."

"Thank-you very much Headwoman." Illiana said as she readjusted her carisak on her shoulder and entered the barracks. She looked to either side, and there was but a curtain to separate the two sections, one was obviously the male side, and the other the female. Taking a deep breath she walked into the female section, making the assumption that the one which smelt a bit like flowers was in fact the female side. There were two rows of beds on either side, she looked around and not many appeared to be claimed. So she took one that had a window on the opposite side, so when lying in bed she could look at the stars.

Sol smiled at Illiana as she settled, and nodded. "I'll be back soon, lass. Get settled, hmm?"
