Drills had gone well today. Cardella was pleased with their part.
**Come on Awenth, let's get you cleaned up,** she said, patting the
green on the hide.
The pair started walking towards the lake when they felt a shadow of a
larger dragon pass near them. Glancing up, Cardella waved to Teseada.
"Drills went well today. Onnyth flies so well," Cardella complimented
the beautiful gold dragon.
}:We were just heading to the pools for a little bath. Want to play in
the water with me?:{ Awenth reached out to Onnyth. She always enjoyed
the company of other dragons during her bath times.
}:If you can keep up with me,:{ the gold told the smaller green.
"We try our hardest," Teseada said. "Got to keep trying all the time, that's
the secret."
"So true," Cardella replied as she watched Awenth saunter after the
larger gold dragon.
"The two of them don't seem to mind," she chuckled as she watched
Awenth splash into the pool of water with a bit of a flourish.
"Like overgrown toddlers sometimes when they get in the water."
Cardella chuckled at that. "That they are. I do enjoy watching them
though. It's rather refreshing and makes me want to rollick and play
so easily. We should all be able to cast aside any inhibitions and be
able to see the _joy_ in the small moments, just as the dragons do."
Cardella looked out towards where Awenth was having a rather enjoyable
time in the water.
Onnyth had joined the green, and despite her greater size in comparison to
Awenth, she was trying to gently splash and play as well.
"I sometimes wish I could, but then I see that golden hide and realise what
goes with it," there was a note of what might have been regret amongst the
pride in Teseada's voice. "I wouldn't change anything though."
Cardella looked towards Teseada curiously at the note she heard in her
voice. She hadn't really though as deeply about the restrictions that
the goldriders might be under due to their higher status.
"I think even those who shoulder the most responsibility have to find
time to enjoy the moments of life. What do you like to do when you're
not busy working?" Cardella asked. She could think of many things she
enjoyed in her spare time, when there was spare time.
"I have a project for walking the tables," Teseada began. "That takes up
some time, and then," she grinned. "I take it you've seen Daran around."
"Oh that's wonderful. I've been considering doing more with my own
studies. I wasn't an official apprentice, but they told me that with
my skills I could probably be considered a senior apprentice. I just
have to do some tasks and such in order to prove myself, once I find
the time, of course." Cardella grinned.
"Daran? Yes, he's a harper isn't he?" Cardella hadn't spent much time
with him, but she did know of the harper. Then suddenly her eyes
brightened as a thought struck her, "Is there something more between
you two?" She hoped the goldrider wouldn't take offense at the
somewhat bold question.
"Well, yes," admitted Teseada. it felt good to talk about it to someone
closer to her own age. "It might be something really good, if we can work
out where we want it to go."
"Oh, that's fantastic!" Cardella replied. "I know how it feels to care
for someone alot, also, and not really know which way to go with
things. Life in the Weyr can be tricky at times. Does Daran realize
what being a rider entails for you though? I mean, if he does and he
can handle all the parts that go with it, then I'm excited _for_ you!"
"I think working out flights might be something we need to work out." And
the goldrider hoped they could, she knew that Daran was good for her, he
seemed to keep her grounded.
"I'm sure you'll find a way to work though it. On that note, I have a
question for you. What would you do if you were attracted to a close
friend of yours, and things were going well, but you weren't sure how
to take them further or even if you should?" It was nice to have a
fellow female to ask who might understand better what she was going
through with K'ale.
"Talk to them. You ever know what is going on in someone's head until they
tell you."
"That is a good point. I'll make sure I do that. Thanks for that
advice Teseada." Cardella smiled at the thought. She _would_ do that.
She would talk to K'ale about what she was thinking and feeling and
see what he was thinking as well.
"Anytime."
