Plans to Get Away

Description: Famell makes plans with Shilara for a little adventure away from the Hall
Location: Dolphin Hall
Date: month 5, day 4 of Turn 7

"Good morning," Famell said, walking up behind her and lightly
touching her shoulder. He moved around her seat quickly with a smile
on his face. "Mind if I join you this morning?"

"Of course I don't mind." Shilara said with an easy smile, her eyes
coming up to follow the Hallmaster as he took a seat across the table
from her. Having come to know the man more over the past few sevendays
had left Shilara feeling more comfortable around him than she had at
first. It also gave her confidence knowing that Famell wasn't showing
other women the same kind of attention that he showed her.

He smiled with ease and settled into the seat across from her. "So how
do you fare this fine morning?"

"Good, although I barely slept at all last night." Shilara shook her
head. It had just been one of "those" nights where every time she shut
her eyes all she could do was lie and think about the things that she
needed to get done the next day. "How are you this morning,
Hallmaster," she said the title with a smirk, "have a busy day ahead?"

"You know I prefer it when you call me Famell." He smiled as he said
the words, knowing she was teasing him.

"I have some hidework to file and complete and then I promised Tafa
some time with her. She has been telling me about something she found
on an island about a day's swim from here. I am trying to get things
in order so I could take the trip with her, since I'll be gone a few
days for sure." Famell paused. Then with a slight smile he added, "I
don't suppose that you and Keyla would like to join us on this little
adventure? I'm not sure what Tafa has in mind, but trust me, her
adventures are always well worth it."

Shilara always liked the sound of an adventure, and she was sure that
Keyla would enjoy it as well. And then, of course, there was the added
bonus of spending some quality "alone" time with Famell on some
island. How could she pass this opportunity up? "I would love to!"

"Wonderful!" Famell exclaimed. "I will be looking forward to it all
day as I trudge through the hidework that must get done. Make sure you
pack a bag with supplies for a few days and I'll have Jylanya pack us
some foodstuffs to bring along." Just then one of the drudges came
forward with a tray for the Hallmaster.

"Thank you," he remarked, looking eagerly at the plate of food as his
stomach rumbled. "We best eat our fill as I'm afraid the food on our
little journey won't be quite as delicious and warm as this." He
picked up his utensil and started spooning some of the warm mush into
his mouth.

"Maybe I'll cook for you on this tip, I have cooked over a camp fire
before, but it has been a while." Shilara raised her eyebrows, and
then another thought came to her, "Or maybe I won't, I would hate to
scare you off by burning your food." A teasing grin came to her face.

"I think I can handle some burned food," he grinned back. "Trust me,
I've had worse over my Turns." He paused and added, "Well if you're
sure you're up for this little venture, I'm thrilled. I should go get
my hidework done so we can set off at first light. Sound fair to you
or do you need more time to prepare?"

Shilara gave a smart little salute, "That sounds like a deal. I will
be packed and ready to go." The woman traveled lightly, out of habit,
and her short hair allowed her the privilege of not needing to do very
much to it. Even though this was technically a "work" related trip,
there was a skimpy two piece bathing suit that she definitely planned
on packing.

"Wonderful!" Famell exclaimed and drew a few glances. Lowering his
voice, he added, "I can't wait."
