}:Cerillith and Upinth, mine would like to talk to yours,:{ Rademerth
told the greens. He studied them for a moment, liking the way they
looked in the sunlight.

Harki and Rorela were by the weyrlake, sitting with their boots up
after drills. Harki wrinkled her nose at the Wingthird. "Who's
Rademerth's rider?" she asked. "I have no idea who that is."

"That name sounds familiar..." She paused, thinking, then blinked. "I
think it's a weyrling isn't it?" She shrugged. "It's not like we're
busy or anything." She stretched and laid back with a sigh. "Maybe
he's cute."

}: Mine will speak with Yours. She is by the lake. :{ Upinth offered,
eyeing the blue with interest.

Rademerth helpfully pointed out the riders, then joined Upinth,
showing off his wingspan. J'kri smiled in amusement and shook his
head. "Harki? And Rorela? I'm J'kri. You um, helped out my friend
Paetri."

Rorela sat up and looked at Harki, then back at the young man in front
of them. Her eyes slid down his body and then slowly back upwards. "My
my...you are cute. Paetri has excellent taste. And you're welcome."
She elbowed Harki. "We did gooood."

"Paetri did all the choosing." Harki arched an eyebrow at Rorela. "And
good for her. If he didn't look all young and yummy like that, she and
I would have had to have had a very long chat about aesthetics."

J'kri was both flattered and bit embarrassed. "Um, thank you. I was
wondering if you could help me surprise Paetri, the way she surprised
me."

Rorela's brows rose high and she blinked before cutting her eyes
towards Harki. "Uhm...well..huh." She slowly sat up, curling her legs
under her. "I think all you'd have to do is strip and wiggle for
Paetri to be surprised." She paused and then grinned. "Unless you've
already done that for her."

Harki elbowed Rorela. "Stop teasing him. You're making him blush. And
you _know_ Paetri would probably faint or something."

"I want to do something special for her. Even if it might make her
faint." He smiled.

"He's pretty when he blushes." Rorela shot back immediately, then
turned to look at J'kri. Her lower lip thrust out. "You need to do
something for her that will help her have more confidence in herself."

He sighed. "I've been _trying_."

"So what do you have in mind, roughly?" Harki asked.

"To help her gain confidence or surprise her?" J'kri asked.

Rorela blinked. "Well, yes, we got that." She tapped her chin. "Have
you tried romancing her at all? She's a quiet, timid little thing. Get
her something sexy to wear and go somewhere with her. Show her off.
Make her proud to be a woman."

Sexy wouldn't go over well in a Hold, so a Gather was out. He perked
up as he got an idea. "What about the Hatching? I can get her a dress
and we can dance. I'm not a great dancer, but I think I can manage to
make her look good. My father said a man's job is to make a woman look
beautiful and graceful when she dances. Or is that different here?"

"I guess. I never really thought about it. But buying her a dress
isn't a good idea-- there isn't anything worse than wearing clothes
that don't fit right." Harki tapped a finger against her lips. "Unless
you stole one of hers, first."

Rorela's brows raised. "That's a good idea. Something that already
fits her well, nothing baggy, mind you." She turned to J'kri with a
grin. "We can take you shopping, dear boy. And you can pick out what
you'd like to see her in."

J'kri's eyes lit. "Oh, shopping! I miss shopping with my sisters."

Harki cast a sideways glance at Rorela. "Well, that's unexpected."

"He rides a blue, dear. Not a brown." She patted Harki lightly on the
hand. "Remember?"

J'kri smiled self-consciously. "I like all sorts of things."

Rorela grinned. "I'm sure you do." She waggled her brows as Harki
snorted with laughter. "But what does _she_ like?"

"She likes me." His smile turned dreamy. "I'll find something nice.
Sexy but not too sexy, not embarrassing. Something that shows off her
curves and her breasts. They're not big, but they're _nice_." They'd
fit well in his hands.

"Sweet Faranth," Harki muttered. **Save me from young love!**

"Someone's got a favorite body part." Rorela snickered and nudged at
Harki knowingly. "So, here's what you do. Next time you're in her
weyr, swipe a dress you recognize. Bring it back to us. Then.." She
rubbed her hands together. "We'll go shopping." She paused and looked
over at Harki, her smile widening. "Hey, J'kri...do you have any good
looking weyrling friends?"

Harki took a swipe at Rorela, who dodged. "Don't even think about it,
you old wherry."

J'kri looked between them and lifted an eyebrow. "Do you need someone
to warm your bed? Because I could ask around." He smiled to show he
was teasing.

Harki snorted. "Sorry lad, but I don't sleep with children."

Rorela stroked Harki's hand as if soothing a cat. "See lad, she's
cranky. I'm working on it. Truly I am." She turned to Harki and patted
her hand. "Oh honey...is it that bad that you can't see deliciousness
in front of you? You need help. It's been too long."

"I do have _older_ friends," J'kri suggested, holding back laugh. He
wondered how Paetri had survived these two.

"One project at a time," she told Rorela patronizingly, ignoring J'kri
entirely. "I know you can't handle thinking about more than one thing
at once."

Rorela lifted a brow at Harki. "At least I think." She turned back to
J'kri. "Get us a dress. We'll set you up with a surprise that will
have Paetri draped all over you." She then added as an aside. "Then
you can help me out."

"Okay." J'kri was already thinking of how soon he could sneak a dress
from her closet.
