Rorela didn't knock as she entered into Harki's weyr, her face flushed, hair
mussed and expression absolutely smug. She gave one look at Harki, grinned
and plopped down on her couch with a satisfied smile.
"Someone looks like they've stolen a handful of sweets," Harki rolled onto
her elbows in her bed and arched an eyebrow at Rorela. She was already
wearing an old nightgown with a small hole near the neckline, and battered
leather slippers dangled off her feet. "So. Spill."
Rorela's face was positively glowing as she lolled her head on her shoulders
to look at Harki. "Mission..." she purred. "...accomplished. Very very
accomplished."
The other greenrider's face lit up with a grin. "You seriously did it!
Shells-- you snookered the Weyrleader!"
Rorela kicked her feet up and laid on the couch with an exhausted smile.
"Well and truly snookered." She giggled as she kicked off her boots. "Over
and over and over again. There is no faulting that man's stamina." She
stretched, her smile never fading. "And he called me the most corruptive
greenrider in the Weyr. I am so proud."
Harki threw a pillow at her. "You wish. I'm pretty sure _I_ take that
title."
Rorela caught the pillow and tucked it under her head. "Sorry. I have stolen
it. You didn't seduce the Weyrleader. I did. And he came back for more." She
rolled over on her side to grin at Harki. "I should have gotten that book
Turns ago. I could have been sneaking up to his weyr all this time..."
"And you thought that he didn't like you." Harki pursed her lips into a
pout.
Rorela copied the pout. "Oh, he likes me. He started thinking about the
whole Wingthird thing and I had to distract him. He thinks that it's going
to be an issue." She shrugged. "I don't."
Harki snorted. "I don't get that. It's not as if you're undressing each
other with your eyes while flying Thread."
"No, just during Wing meetings when I'll want to be groping his bottom. And
now that I know what he can do..." She whistled and then wiggled her brows.
"I'll have to restrain myself." She paused. "Well, start restraining myself
I mean."
The other greenrider laughed. "Good luck with that, Lady Wingthird! Although
I'm going to think it's a riot when you two start making eyes like
herdbeasts at each other over flight charts. It's only a matter of time!"
There was a voluble snort. "Are you kidding me? G'nir? Making herdbeast eyes
at someone?" She shook her head. "The only time his eyes get like that is
when Hygalia's gold is about to rise."
"Doesn't everyone's, though? All that goldflight lust swirling through the
air..." Harki sighed and put a hand to her forehead. "It's quite
overwhelming." She grinned at Rorela, dropping the act. "But seriously,
though. Congratulations on a well-earned, well-plotted dream come true."
After glow still wreathed her face as Rorela gave Harki a wry smile. "Thank
you. Now, we have to work on you."
"No, we have to take J'kri shopping," Harki waggled a finger at Rorela.
"Don't get distracted just because you got laid."
"I'm not distracted. I'm determined. When we go shopping, I'm getting you a
dress, my dear."
"That's just the afterglow talking, but if you really want to buy me a
dress, please do!" Spending other people's marks was _so_ much more fun,
although Harki didn't think Rorela would go through with it. Not after
spending marks on Paetri. It wasn't as if either of them had marks like a
goldrider to throw around. "But what about you? Don't you want something new
to make sure that the Weyrleader tears his eyes off Hygalia at some point in
the evening?"
"I already have something." She grinned. "Slit up the thigh, low cut,
and..." She wiggled on the couch. "Backless. It's perfect. And even if I
don't get him, There's no way I'm going back to my weyr alone." She sat up
and eyed Harki. "Don't you have anything?"
"Of course I do." The greenrider rolled off the bed and opened her wardrobe,
revealing a motley mess of fabrics, leather and furs. She stood eyeing up
the pile for a moment, then closed the wardrobe and knelt next to one of her
still-packed bags from her move to Dragonsfall Weyr. "But I like dresses to
dance in. Like this!" She triumphantly pulled a somewhat wrinkled dress with
a short, full skirt and no sleeves from the depths of her bag. The bodice
was cut tight and a strip of tooled black leather in a floral pattern edged
the neckline. She tossed it at Rorela. "I have another dress somewhere too,
in red. It's got glass beads on it. Although that one might have a wine
stain on the skirt... I can't remember."
Rorela rose from the couch and padded over to the wardrobe. "Looks like
mine." She eyed the dress, thrust out her lip in thought and made a 'hmm'
noise in her throat. "Well...you can have it pressed in the laundry and it
would be good. Show of those legs of yours." She held it up. "Maybe your
butt too, if you bend over far enough. "She got a devilish look in her eye.
"Wear this one."
"That's why I bought it!" The greenrider grinned. "It's never let me down."
Rorela grinned even wider, her teeth flashing as her own mind began to work
on possible opportunities.
"Oh, stop it." Harki snatched the dress back from Rorela, folded it
carelessly and shoved it into the wardrobe. "I know that look. And I'd much
rather hear all the juicy details about our dear Weyrleader's bedroom
prowess. Details, please!"
Keeping the smile, Rorela darted past Harki and pulled the dress out. "Oh no
you don't. You're wearing this and we're going to be smashing together." She
tucked the dress under her arm. "I'll have it pressed for you," she insisted
as she walked right back to the couch and sat. "Now...about G'nir..."
