Awkward... or not?

Description: Lissath inspects the new Weyrlingmaster Second.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 7, day 3 of Turn 7

Genna

When they had been introduced to the new Weyrlingmaster Second, Genna had
sat up with a sudden jolt of energy. Was it just because she
recognized him? Was it shame for him showing up after she had told him
some personal things, thinking she'd hardly meet with him again? His
appearance rattled her somehow and it wasn't long before Lissath
picked up on it. So, just as D'kere finished his first class, the
young gold waddled up to him with purpose and Genna was forced to
follow. Lissath flopped down on her haunces, her head just inches from
his face as she stared him in the eyes.

}:Hello.:{

D'kere looked up from his clipboard, and then flashed a small smile of
recognition, "Good morning, Lissath, and Genna." She nodded to the
gold weyrling. They had spoken briefly one evening when Genna had been
looking for a bit of fresh air. D'kere hadn't known then that he would
be accepting the Weyrlingmaster's Second position.

**Lissath, back off!**

Genna blushed slightly at her gold's indecent behaviour. "I'm sorry,
she got curious." She shrugged slightly as if to say 'What can you
do?' before she turned to Lissath and stared her down. The little gold
backed off reluctantly, but not by far.

}:You know my Genna?:{

A dimple creased D'kere's cheek as he grinned, "I do know your
Genna... a little, at least." His blue eyes rose from the gold
dragonet to her rider. "And how are you, Genna?"

"Doing fine, Sir," Genna said, putting one hand on Lissath's head as
the little gold finally sat back on her haunches. "So far, we haven't
encountered much problems." Perhaps maybe Lissath tendency to create
chaos, like with her game of tag.

"I didn't know you were in the running for Weyrlingmaster Second."
D'kere crossed his arms over his chest and raised his shoulders in a
shrug, "I didn't either until I was asked. With the horror stories I
have heard about this particular Weyrling class a part of me is
wondering if it was a cruel joke."

"Ehm, yeah," Genna grinned a bit sheepishly. "We're a special bunch." Well,
in truth she figured the horror stories were mostly from one point of
origin, but it wouldn't do to start pointing fingers with the new
Weyrlingmaster Second right away. "I'm glad you decided to accept though, I
think you will be good for us."

"Yes, well, hopefully Kenirath and I won't screw up the Weyr's newest
goldrider. That would be a hard one to live down, wouldn't it?" A teasing
smile briefly crossed D'kere's face.

"Oh, but I'm pretty hard to screw with," Genna said quickly, before she
realised what she had said and turned a bright red. "Ehm.."

**Oh, I doubt that.** D'kere thought and then was immediately glad that the
thought hadn't reached his lips. He was going to have to watch himself
around Genna, she was too easy to talk to, "Yes, well, that remains to be
seen."

Genna could only grin sheepishly, looking sideways at Lissath who was still
observing D'kere with a strange kind of severity.

}: I don't know if I like him yet. There's something strange about this
dude.:{ she shared critically with her lifemate.

**Well, think on it. We should get going.**

Better get out of there before things got even weider.

"Well, time to get back to the barracks. I'll see you around. Sir."

D'kere inclined his head, "Have a good day."

}:That gold dragonet is acting strangely.:{ Kenirath informed D'kere with a
rumble.

**Agreed. But she will be your Queen some day.** D'kere pointed out.

}:Not any time soon. Chioneth is my Queen.:{

**She will grow up and act less weird. I am sure your tune will change when
she is ready to fly for the first time.**

}:Maybe.:{ Kenirath agreed hesitantly.

D'kere headed back to his office, he had some Weyrling reports due to
J'darin by that evening.
