It was early but weyrlings were up early and feeding their lifemates.
Faucheth was growing like a weed and no wonder at the amount of food
he cut up for her. She was already almost ten feet long. But once she
was done gulping down her breakfast he led the way to the lake for her
bath.

"Come on," he called as she stopped to sniff at the littlest things
along the way. "Hurry up," he shook his head walking backwards. "Silly
girl, I have to get to class and we still have to bathe and oil you.

He turned when he was sure she was following and almost ran into
another rider. "Oh sorry," he said as he dodged around.

For some reason, Julerith had woken him early this morning and wanted
a bath. After grumbling his way out of bed and into clothes, he had
made his way down with him to the lake they used when it was cold.
Because he was so sleepy, he wasn't watching where he was going and he
nearly collided with someone.

He had left Julerith in the lake submerged and had been headed back to
his weyr to get a paddle for oiling. He had forgotten it, and now his
spoiled lifemate was fussing about dry patches.

Carrying on a conversation with his dragon while walking had not helped either.

**You do not have dry patches, you are currently all wet.**

}:I do. My right hind leg has a dry patch and it itches. Hurry! :{

The almost collision startled him and he paused. "Sorry to you! I'm
half asleep here."

It was a weyrling, clearly, from the size of the green trailing after him.

"A weyrling are you? Your green is lovely, she's growing fast!"

T'lat smiled at the older blue rider. "Yes sir," he said. "She really
is growing fast." Faucheth of course was immediately interested in the
big blue dragon.

}:Hello,:{ she said with her best new attempt at a flirt. }:I'm Faucheth:{

T'lat just shook his head. "She's hopless," he grinned. "Into the
water with you girl."

Julerith turned his attention from the dry patch on his leg to the
little green and spoke to her. }:Hello little one. I am Julerith.
Let me show you how to splash your rider:{ He extended his wings
getting ready to 'splash' even though their riders were not in the
water with them right now. She was too young for him to flirt back
but he definitely admired her spirit and would keep an eye on her.

N'klar froze in place.

"Oh dear. I am afraid you're in trouble... Julerith is about to teach
your little Faucheth a bad habit or six." He grinned at the weyrling
and held out his hand for an introduction. "My name is N'klar. I
feel like I must absolutely stay with you during bath time today... to
protect you both from an interfering naughty blue dragon."

T'lat couldn't help laughing and shaking his head. Faucheth of course
immediately started trying to imitate the blue.

When the weyrling didn't shake his hand or introduce himself N'klar
made an odd noise, somewhere between a laugh and a shrug.

"We better go and lend a hand, though I was headed back to my weyr for
a paddle for oil. Julerith was complaining. Now, of course, he is
quite distracted." Julerith snorted into the water, creating waves.
He brought his wings up and then pushed them forward through the
water as fast as he could. This created a large 'splash' dousing
anyone - or any dragon - within range.

"No! Julerith! Don't teach her that!!" N'klar headed into the water
to smack his blue in the shoulder.

"Big blue idiot!"

Faucheth gleefully tried to imitate the larger dragon but only
succeeded in small waves. T'lat ran into the water in time to get a
face full of water from the much larger Julerith.

"Great," he sputtered and pushed blond hair out of his eyes. "Don't do
that again." he called to his green.

}:Did I hurt you mine,:{ the little green was immediately contrite.

"No just wet."

N'klar shook his head and fussed at Julerith mentally. **Quit
teaching her bad habits!!**

}:But it is fun. I wish to show her how to have fun. :{

**Don't try so hard!**

"OH! I'm sorry! My blue is an ill mannered lout! I will help you
with Faucheth to make up for it, or can I help you with any of your
classes? " The young greenrider tugged at him, reminding him a little
of his younger sister around the eyes, but he still felt pretty bad
that Julerith had splashed him!

T'lat shook his hands and then shook his head. "Silly girl," he said
chuckling. But with her all wet now he began to scrub her hide.
"Well," he said hopefully. "Do you think you can show me how to make
my first straps? They said we're going to have to do it soon and I
have no clue how."

N'klar grinned.

"I'm better at making wines, but I would love to help you. Why
don't you finish with Faucheth, and you can come to my weyr with
leather and tools, and I'll lend a hand. Your free time would be
later in the evening yes? Just have Faucheth bespeak Julerith when
you are ready. We are mostly always available." He patted the
youngster on the shoulder. "Sorry again...Julerith has always been
the prankster in our relationship. "

"Wines? That sounds interesting," the younger rider smiled. "I'm a
harper myself," he added. "Don't worry about Julerith," he smiled.
"She's always full of fun. I'm T'lat by the way. It was a pleasure to
meet you N'klar."
