Description: Nyblek lures Chynna into a storeroom... to show her his latest test score
Location: Smith Hall (NPC)
Date: month 10, day 9 of Turn 3
The apprentice left a note on the table right where he knew Chynna would find it:
"Chynna-
I got my scores back. Meet me in the store room.
~Me"
Chynna, unfolding the mystery piece of parchment moments later, couldn't help to let out a small smile of excitment. She hadn't seen Nyblek for what seemed like ages, and could hardly wait to see how he did one his exams. Glancing around to ensure that no one was watching, Chynna dropped her rag and ran off to the storeroom she knew Nyblek was referring to.
Nyblek grinned as his friend burst into the room. "Now don't be _too_
excited," he said as he handed her the graded test. "It's far from perfect, but much better than it would have been if you hadn't helped me."
"Wow, thats great," Chynna threw her arms around, Nyblek in an ackward hug before realising what she was doing and drawing back, "Thats an excellent mark, and hopefully more than enough to satisfy the master."
"Oh, you know Yodakey. He's _never_ satisfied. But he did acknowledge the fact that I at least _passed_." The apprentice looked rather sheepish as he added, "Though he was a little surprised that my scores seemed to drop since the last test."
"He would have gotten suspicious after a while. You know that Nyblek.
The masters aren't stupid you know."
Nyblek shrugged. "I guess." He still thought he could have gotten away with it though. "But I do appreciate your help."
"No problem," Chynna responded, "I owed you one anyways."
"I don't think so," the apprentice said shaking his head. "You've been treated unfair. It was the least I could do, sharing my notes with you."
"Ya, well," Chynna shrugged uncomfortably, she still felt like she owed Nyblek a huge favour, "Do you have another test coming up that I can help you with?"
"Not for a while. Not until my jewelry test, but I'm fine at that." It was one test he had no worries about whatsoever. A small, uncomfortable silence passed between them. "So... are there any notes you want me get for you?"
"Whatever you can get your hands on," Chynna grinned, "sorry that I don't have that last set for you. I didn't think that I would be seeing you today."
"Oh, that's all right," he smiled. "So... When do you want to meet me again?" Nyblek asked as his throat began to dry. "To give me the notes I mean."
"Whenever. When do your classes end tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow?" His voice held the slight hint of excitement that it would be so soon. "Intro to Forge ends at the 16th candle mark, and then there's chorse and the evening meal... But I have an hour free after the afternoon meal. Do you want to meet then?"
Chynna thought for a moment. The kitchen staff were often very busy in the hour following a meal. There was often a lot of washing up to be done, but she did not want to miss an opportunity to see Nyblek, "I could try and sneak away for a bit."
"Well, it doesn't have to be long, just long enough that you can give me the notes and I can give you some new ones," he said helpfully. Of course, he fully intended to 'forget' his notes so he would have an excuse to find her again.
"Tomorrow then,"Chynna affirmed happily. She could hardly wait.
"Tomorrow..."
