Physical Description of Persona:
Jerric's appearance is rapidly transforming, making it difficult to describe. He is in a transition phase, with many predominant parts of his life at the Hall showing through. He really doesn't have too much muscle but now that he is at the Weyr, that is about to change. His mother always made sure he was clean and nicely dressed. Jerric really doesn't care what he wears. His hair was always kept short and tidy but now it's about two or three inches in length and usually messy. His hair is naturally wavy and thick. He is good looking, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is usually clean shaven but every now and then he rebels and a distinct five o'clock shadow can be seen. His facial features are masculine and attractive. He has a boyish look to him, with dimples on his cheeks when he smiles. His teeth are straight and white. Jerric has nice smooth skin that's an even light tanned color. Jerric is an average height for his age but very skinny. His fingers are naturally long which aid him as a musician and when writing. His fingernails are usually kept clean in order not to mess his gitar up. He has a rangy build, with narrow but round shoulders, narrowing to a trim waist. His legs are proportionally long and lanky.

Jerric's dress is usually very plain and neat. He doesn't waste very much time getting dressed. He wears what is practical. He isn't a bad dresser but particularly a stylish one either. He absolutely always wears a simple chain necklace with his father's wedding ring through it. He loves it dearly as one of the few reminders he has of his father. The ring and necklace are both plain and silver.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Jerric is a rather timid person. He has been sheltered, babied and bossed around by his mother his entire life, leaving little room for too much personal growth to develop. He is shy at first and never too outspoken. He is likeable to the more mild crowd and usually can get along with most anyone. He doesn't mind being pushed around and most of the time, won't know it anyways. Jerric is a follower and would probably crack under too much pressure. His intelligence level is average, perhaps a little behind if anything. Jerric's straight forward and blunt.

Jerric is afraid of most animals, having never really had too much experience with them in general. Felines are passable but when it comes to runners and other large beasts, he becomes nervous quickly. Jerric also hates to be dirty. His mother has led him to believe that filth will lead to disease, which in part is true. Jerric takes it a bit extremely though and can't stand to be dirty. He gets sick easily, having a weak immune system but will do just about anything to avoid it.

Jerric isn't much of the romantic but he can certainly make the effort if need be. Granted, it is almost guaranteed to be a goofy and awkward attempt. Jerric is a bit nonchalant when it comes to women. He has never been a very big flirt, well, that is until he starts drinking. Then Jerric becomes all about having fun. He is open and up for anything. He likes the freedom that the alcohol brings him but deep down, it's just Jerric being who he really wants to be. The alcohol just him get rid of that shy shell of his. As a lover, a sober Jerric is very scared and shy but unsober, he is very passionate.

Jerric doesn't share the same bias that most of the men have for women because he was raised in the North Continent. Jerric doesn't quite understand why the men are so vehemently against women in roles other than domestic roles, especially as his mother had always excelled in her craft over his father.

Jerric loves to play gitar. He composes small songs every now and then. The musical part of it is generally average but if ever tries to adds lyrics they tend to be quite horrible. He likes to play but is a bit shy when it comes to performing in front of people. He will but it sometimes takes a little motivation if he hasn't had a drink. He also sings every now and then but much like his lyric writing, he isn't much of a singer either.

Jerric is surprisingly a great dancer. His mother thought it was quite refined and always encourage him to dance. Dancing is one of those things most people don't know about Jerric.

Jerric has beautiful penmanship. He enjoys writing and tends to sketch or doodle every now and then. His drawings aren't half bad either. When working as a scribe ,he tends to add elaborate borders or headers for his own personal touch.

Lastly, Jerric is a bit of a closet drinker, especially since coming to the Weyr. He takes after his father in that aspect. When drunk, Jerric is a lot more outgoing and fun to be with. Jerric likes to drink in order to loosen up a bit around people. He also doesn't deal well with stress and drinking seems to usually solve his problems. He is very quiet about it though and would never admit it. Drinking doesn't affect his lifestyle enough in order to call him an alcoholic really or say that it is self destructive but how this will develop later on, only time will tell.

History of Persona:
Laira was always a stubborn young girl. She especially talented in songwriting and composition. At a Harper Hall in the North where she studied, she met another young harper like herself, a man named Jerran. When the two married, Laira was 21 turns and Jerran was 23. Both were talented Journeymen but it was well known that Laira was the star. Jerran served primarily as a teacher and he played he gitar quite well. He loved working with children.

Two turns after the two were married, Laira gave birth to a baby girl named Errica. It was prevalent from birth that something was not right however and the little girl passed after only two days. Laira was sent into depression and blamed herself for working too hard during the pregnancy. Jerran comforted her through the hard time but they did not again try for another child. Laira decided to focus on her craft and at the age of 30, she became a Master. Jerran was proud of her but it was well known he did not have the talent to become a Master anytime soon.

That same year, Laira became pregnant again. This time, the baby was a boy and Laira took extra precautions. She had already received her promotion and thought that perhaps, this was good timing. Months later, a baby boy was boy. Jerran and Laira named him Jerric.

Jerric was always an extremely well behaved infant. He kept to himself and played quietly. His father Jerran spent a lot of time with while his mother Laira doted on him while continuing to work with her craft. The family remained at the Harper Hall to raise their son. Laira took on apprentices while Jerran worked as a gitarist and built many fine instruments.

It seemed that at the time their family had just begin to really grow, Laira and Jerran began to have problems with their marriage. Jerran was sick of Laira's neglect of their child and full concentration on her craft. The two began to fight a lot and Jerran developed into an alcoholic.

When Jerric was approximately five turns old, Jerran disappeared for a while. It was then that Laira had to step in. She was a perfectionist and though she could have gotten the help of foster parent, she chose not to, in spite of Jerran. She was going to prove that she could be a good mother. Jerric missed his father but was happy for the attention from his mother.

When Jerric was seven turns old, Jerran returned. He looked worn and it was obvious that he had developed into an alcoholic. He didn't have a mark to his name. Laira took him back so that Jerric could see his father but the two continued to fight. Jerran did begin to teach his son some basics of the gitar but his mother had already decided he would be a singer and songwriter like her. From the beginning, it appeared Jerric's future was already being decided for him.

Jerric's mother taught him how to read and write, his father taught him the gitar and between fights, the had a somewhat happy family. Jerran toned down on his drinking in order to be around his son. There were times when Jerran would be kicked out for periods of a time but Jerric always remembered his father fondly.

When Jerric turned 12, his mother decided it was well due time that Jerric began to officially train as a harper and he became an apprentice. After all, they had been preparing Jerric for this his entire life. His mother wanted him to become a Master as soon as possible but she knew how many turns of training it would take. Jerric was given extensive training covering voice lessons, instrument making, composition, writing and instrument playing. Jerric had already shown an interest in playing the gitar as he had been already for the past three turns but he didn't particularly excel in that area. He did have beautiful penmanship so they thought the best route to take with him might be a scribe.

Jerric's mother had a fit. She insisted that he become a songwriter and vocalist and that he just needed the training. Jerran strongly objected. Jerric had never shown a strong talent or interest in either area and insisted that Laira would just have to accept that Jerric would not be a great performer like she. A huge fight resulted between Laira and Jerran and lasted many months. Jerran dived back into drinking.

On Jerric's 13th birthingday, Jerran gave his son a beautiful gitar, one that he had her made himself. Laira heartily opposed, leading to yet another fight and she told Jerran to never come see Jerric again. She was through with him. A few days later, Jerran had a bit too much to drink and had drowned to death in a puddle. It was a horribly degrading death. Jerric was heart broken and secretly, Laira was too. After all, Jerran had been the love of her life.

The two took a lot of time to recover. Laira did so by becoming a lot stricter on Jerric. He continued to play the gitar and was moderately good but did best as a scribe. He just didn't have that same openly artistic talent as either of his parents. He wrote a few songs but any lyrics he ever tried to accompany with them were horrid and so was Jerric's singing voice.

When Jerric turned 18, he was ready to become a Journeyman finally. His mother couldn't have been prouder all though she wasn't pleased he had become a Scribe. It was not long afterwards that Searchriders arrived at the Hall.

Laira was busy within the Hold and Jerric had just stepped outside when all of those that were in the age range for Candidacy were asked to come forward. Too shy and quiet to object, Jerric fell in line with the rest of the young men and women. It was a great blue that had come in Search and when the great dragon's eyes fell on the boy, it slightly nodded. The rider informed Jerric that he had been Searched.

As soon as Jerric's mother found out, she heartily objected, refusing to let Jerric go. However, the weyr needed Candidates and the did not back down. Jerric, absolutely terrified, was taken aboard the dragon with another Candidate and they were brought to Ista Weyr.

Jerric arrived only a few days before the Hatching and was surprised when he found himself disappointed on the Sands. He hadn't expected to Hatch but the sudden independence from his overbearing mother was a bit overwhelming. He heard news of a new Clutch due in the South at River Bluff Weyr. Knowing his mother would be on her way to come retrieve him after his failure, Jerric seized the opportunity and implored for the transfer to the South Continent.
