Physical Description of Persona:
Tamajan is a gangly young man caught in an awkward growth spurt that has left him feeling terribly self-conscious. After turns spent as the shortest boy in all of his classes, he's still not sure how he feels about suddenly being so tall, especially since he hasn't developed the muscle to go with his new height.

Turns spent outside in the sun have kept Tamajan's naturally dusky complexion dark, and his curly black hair and large brown eyes go well with his looks. His mother has proudly told him more than once that he'll be handsome when he fills out, but Tamajan would rather be rugged and manly like his father.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Even before his growth spurt and resulting clumsiness, Tamajan always gave the appearance of an overeager puppy. He is always excited about everything around him, wanting to learn as much as he can. He has a tendency to speak quickly and stumble over his words when he's excited, which is most of the time. Although he can be shy around girls--especially the pretty ones--once he warms up to someone he is a friend for life.

History of Persona:
Tamajan grew up in the shadow of his father, a Senior Journeyman Seacrafter who was well respected by the men in the craft. Tamajan worshiped his father, insisting on following in his footsteps even when it was obvious that Tamajan had little knack for much of the craft.

Though his father encouraged him to explore _all_ of his possibilities, Tamajan insisted on apprenticing to the Seacraft Hall as soon as he was old enough. His determination and intelligence kept him from being a failure, but he was a mediocre student at best.

Just after his seventeenth turn, Tamajan's entire family was caught in the disaster at Topaz Seahold. His older brother was lost at sea, and Tamajan's father became even more determined to find his remaining son something to do that the boy would be good at.

A Searchrider solved the problem, whisking Tamajan away to Dolphin Cove Weyr to Stand for their new queen's first clutch. His father couldn't be prouder, and though he might never admit it, Tamajan is secretly relieved to be free of the Craft he only followed to make his father proud.
