Physical Description of Persona:
Malika's eyes are a greenish grey and she stands at five foot three and a half inches. Her hair is the color of the setting sun, a cross between burnt orange and ruby. She weighs around one hundred and thirty pounds, but she hasn't got an ounce of fat on her. She keeps her athletic form by running up and down the beaches with her turn-mates. Every morning she does arm-building exercises, and sometimes is allowed to help oil Liath, when Y'kov is otherwise occupied.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Malika, while not an overly somber young woman, is more often to be found looking slightly grim. She is quick to smile at her "family" but is slightly wary of people from outside her weyr. She was by far the most serious of her age-mates, and still is even among those who have Impressed over the turns.

That is not to say she is without a sense of humor, her sense of humor is, however, a tad on the sarcastic side. This she learned from her 'sire' T'lon and his blue dragon Peirth.

In her assumed role as leader of her turn-mates she succeeded more often than she failed, due to her single-minded pursuit of a goal.

She is fiercely loyal to her adopted 'parents' even going so far as to fight with another child brought in from a hold for search. When later asked to explain her behavior she was reported to reply, "They insulted my parents, Weyrleader. I will not tolerate such slander of such good men, and the whelp is lucky I didn't beat in his pretty face."

Her sense of duty has been honed to a sharp edge by the teachings of her adoptive fathers and their dragons. She knows her duty to her Weyr, and is willing to do whatever the Weyr may ask of her.

Both of her adoptive fathers encouraged her to explore and foster the traits of a leader; integrity, grit and the willingness to take responsibility for her actions.

She is almost without a softer side. The only creatures she shows any compassion to are the dragons, and by relation, firelizards. She wishes to study as a Dragonhealer, but knows that unless she can Impress it is a futile hope.

History of Persona:
Found as an orphan abandoned outside of Emerald Falls Hold, underweight by ten pounds.

Y'kov, rider of green Liath, discovered the
child and took the her back to the Weyr with him. His partner T'lon, rider of blue Peirth, and he decided to raise the girl themselves with the help of a lowerlevel drudge woman they had befriended named Nanda. Together they raised the girl, whom they named Malika, and converted a small room off of Liath's weyr for the child's use. Malika lives there still, keeping the rest of the weyr clean and doing odd chores that her adoptive parents don't have the time for.

Now, at twenty turns, Malika has decided that she has had enough of being a "rider without a dragon". Knowing that she will not be able to pursue her career as a dragon healer without a partner of her own, she has decided to stand for the eggs of the next clutch, and see if, perhaps, fate would look as kindly on her on the sands as it did the day her 'Sire' found her.

Yaotl, Brown Firelizard: aged 11, hatched m3 d10
Discovered by Malika's foster father T'lon on a beach during one of his patrols and given to her on her name day. Yaotl and his clutch mate Xipil have been her companions since she was nineteen turns old. His clutch had no golden queen in it, and only three bronzes. Y'kov received one of them, and the other two were given to friends in the weyr.
He is a dark brown the color of good mahogany, with a fierce personality.

Xipil, Green Firelizard: aged 11, hatched m3 d10
Xipil is an electric lime green in color, and is more laid back than her clutch mate. When she was first impressed Xipil demanded more time than Yaotl, always fighting for attention and oiling. Until a year ago Xipil would not let Malika train with Yaotl alone, but has since mellowed considerably.
