Physical Description of Persona:
Barnek is a short man, standing at just about five feet, six inches tall. He is also rather portly, with a round face and a round belly. Often looking stern, he seems to frown more often than not. His hair, which is dark brown, is beginning to thin on top despite his relative youth. He has brown eyes and a thick brown mustache.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Barnek is a stern task master for his pupils, accepting only their best efforts in class. That said, he is not an unkind man. He simply has high expectations and expects them to be met. He does not tolerate any sort of tomfoolery in his classroom. And has little patience for it outside the classroom either. He expects his students to be hardworking and productive at all times, and if spotting a child lounging around or engaging in frivolous activities, he has been known to assign them extra lessons. As such, most children try to avoid him - which he really doesn't understand because he actually cares about children a great deal. It is why he decided to focus his training on being a teacher.

He puts as much effort towards teaching female children as male, because he believes that even women need to know their history and the basics like reading and arithmetic. Some girls he has wished he could recommend to move on to more advanced training at one of the various Halls, but he is caught between his belief that the most important duty a woman has is to be a good wife and mother and the ideal that a good mind is a terrible thing to waste. Most of the time he falls on the side of hidebound tradition, but this is, on occasion, sorely tested when he comes across a particularly bright girl.

History of Persona:
Barnek was born at Emerald Falls Hold and lived there until the age of twelve, when he was sent to the Harper Hall to apprentice. He decided early on that he wanted to focus his studies on teaching. He had always loved children and wanted to help them to reach their full potential by making sure they received the best early education possible.

Once he walked the tables to receive his Journeyman knots, he was assigned to tour several outlying small holds and cotholds in the Emerald Falls Hold territory. After several turns at this assignment and due to the excellent progress the children he worked with, he was transferred to the Hold Proper when a request went to the Hall for a good Harper to teach the Lord Holder's children and their peers.
