Physical Description of Persona:
H'well is a large man who stands well over six feet in height and is made of solid muscle. His eyes are pale blue, while his hair is a very dark shade of brown. The contrast is a bit startling and, when taken alongside his size, make him a difficult figure to forget. He walks with a slight limp, which is barely noticeable unless he tries to run or is very tired.

Emotional Description of Persona:
H'well can appear quiet intimidating, given his size and his taciturn nature. He uses this to his advantage when disciplining errant weyrlings, however it is mostly a facade and most people realize this within moments of meeting him. Though he is reticent by nature, it isn't be cause he is aloof or unfriendly. In fact, H'well has a very gentle and easy-going nature. He is often quiet because he prefers to watch and listen to speaking out. Which isn't to say that he is shy, he simply enjoys observing the world around him. He has bouts of insomnia where he tends to wander through the Weyr.

His style with the weylings he is in charge of is a bit more relaxed and lenient than one might expect. He expects them to be on time and give their full attention to their training, lessons and chores - and above all else, their dragons, and does not hesitate to let a weyrling who falls short of these expectations know it and regret it. However, he also grants a lot of leeway and his teaching style is to invite discussion, rather than to lecture. Occasionally, he'll even go so far as to look the other way or even make obscurely helpful hints when a harmless prank is in the offing.

History of Persona:
H'well was born Harwell, at Thayan Peak Weyrhold. Though neither of his parents were dragonriders, there were riders on both sides of his family and he very much wanted to be a rider as well. As soon as he was allowed, he began Standing for the small clutches, hoping to find his lifemate. His father, a farmercrafter, insisted that he apprentice as well. He enjoyed the craft and had a knack for it, choosing to focus his studies on developing new strains of existing plants. When he Impressed Getoalth at the age of fifteen, he continued his training as well with a short break while his dragon was
very young. He received his Journeyman knots only a little behind.

When the earthquake destroyed Thayan Peak, H'well was hurt. His leg was badly broken and he was knocked unconscious. Things were touch and go with him for a while when infection set into the injury, but he eventually pulled through. When he woke it was in a completely different place. This, and the occasional nightmares that still plague him, are the cause for his occasional bouts of insomnia.

As the numbers of dragons being hatched exploded, the number of werylings likewise increased. With such increases, it became apparent that something was happening and so the need for additional training became apparent and the Weyrlingmaster's staff needed increasing as well. Because of his easy nature - which would give him the patience for dealing with the huge numbers of newly matched weyrling pairs, and his dedication to his chosen craft - which proved he knew how to work hard at least, and his dragon's patient nature, he was recruited to help. He discovered a talent for working with young dragons and their young riders which rivaled his talent with plants.

After the first few Threadfalls, when it became evident that every able-bodied bronzerider would be needed in the fighting wings, H'well was pulled back off the Weyrlingmaster's staff. However, his skill was not forgotten. Nor did he forget how much he enjoyed working with the weyrlings. When the Weyrling Second position became available, he put in a request for it. He was a bit surprised when he was offered the Weyrlingmaster position instead.

Description of Dragon:
Getoalth is a large bronze with a darker than average hide. He shares his rider's easy going nature, rarely letting anything fluster him. He has a peculiar sense of humor and finds most things that people do interesting and amusing. He is also very patient with young dragons who get easily confused. This has been a great benefit for H'well over the turns that they've been working with weyrlings. In fact, H'well often jokingly credits his dragon with much of his own success when working with weyrlings. For his part, Getoalth agrees completely.

Skinny, Blue Firelizard: aged 30, hatched m12 d18
A gift from his father when he got his Journeyman's knots in Farmercrafting. He got his name because he ate so much food when he hatched that H'well joked that he would never be a skinny creature. Skinny is a cheerful little blue who really enjoys it when he gets to carry messages and items for his human. He also very much enjoys playing with Getoalth, who tolerates the little blue's attention with undue patience.
