Location: Barrier Lake Weyr

H'riv stood out on his weyrledge, coat wrapped around his trim frame, his green eyes flicking about the Weyrhold below as he watched the snow drift down in lazy waves. It had been so long since he had lived in a climate that received snow that it felt like a treat to watch the fluffy little balls float down from the sky.

}:I would rather have a nice, hot, sunny rock.:{ Uuketh said from where he was curled in a tight ball in his weyrcouch.

**I like the snow... it's quiet.** H'riv took in a deep inhale of the crisp, fresh air. There was something about the peace and quiet that a blanket of snow brought that H'riv found peaceful.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" a familiar voice said behind him.

H'riv did not turn to look behind him, but his eyebrows lifted in surprise.

"It is," he said without turning.

A pair of arms wrapped around his waist from behind, and a familiar body pressed against his back.

"I'm sorry we argued."

H'riv didn't touch her back. "I thought you were done, Gyllie."

"Done with you? That might be impossible," she replied.

"O'ris wasn't to your liking?" he asked, mentioning the bronzerider he'd seen slinking out of her weyr a couple of days before.

"He's okay, but he's not you." Her hands slid down his arms and her fingers linked with his. "No one has your hands."

A part of H'riv wanted to shut Gyllie out, the same way she had so easily dismissed him, but another part, the dominant part of him, had missed her company.

"You like snow, do you?" he asked.

"Yes, it snowed all the time in Amber Hills."

H'riv moved lightning quick, bending to scoop up a handful of snow off the ledge, and then spinning and shoving it down the back of Gyllie's collar.

"Well if you love it so much, why don't you marry it?" he mimicked the childhood taunt in a singsong voice, his eyes alight with humor.

Gyllie squealed and leaped away from H'riv. "Oh, you are in big trouble mister!" The redhead kept a cautious eye on him as she bent and scooped up some snow. She packed it expertly between her hands.

"Hit me if you can," H'riv taunted, swaying back and forth on the balls of his feet.

"Okay, you asked for it." Gyllie said, cocking one eyebrow as she faked a throw to the left, and then released the snowball, nailing H'riv in the face.

The brownrider froze and sputtered at the snow in his mouth. "By the egg! You actually hit me!"

"Serves you right for assuming a girl can't throw," Gyllie said crowed.

"Oh, I won't make that mistake again," H'riv said, lunging at Gyllie while simultaneously ducking another throw.

Peals of laughter escaped the redhead as she was caught by the brownrider. "Now that you have me, what are you going to do with me?"

H'riv acted as if he were thinking on it and then a gleam came to his eyes. "I think I'll just have my way with you now."

Gyllie moved her hips enticingly against him. "Oh no, whatever will I do?" she breathed with a smile of anticipation.

"I guess," he said, sweeping her into his arms and carrying her into his weyr, "that you'll just have to submit and take your punishment like a good little girl."

Her teeth nipped at his earlobe. "I can be a _very_ good girl," she growled.
