Description: Lirit stumbles across M'yex and his lifemate.
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Date: month 13, day 1 of Turn 4
M'yex sat quietly. He was embroidering again as Enyth sunned herself. He
looked up when he heard the sound of footsteps in the weyrbowl near
them. There was someone walking past and he was about to trip over
Enyth's tail. "Enyth dear watch your tail." He said aloud for both her
benifit and the mans.
Lirit came to a dead stop. He had sensed something near him, but he
hadn't realised it was a dragon or that the dragon's tail was in the
way. The harper turned toward the voice and his lips curled up into an
easy smile. "Oh, pardon me, was I about to trample someone's tail?"
M'yex smiled. "It's alright. She should have been keeping watch over her
errant tail."
Enyth moved it. }:Tell him I am sorry for having it in the way.:{
"She says she is sorry for having her tail in the way." M'yex said as he
laid his embroidery in his lap.
Lirit turned toward M'yex, the canine at his side coming into view and
cocking his head at the greenrider. Blue eyes settled upon M'yex form,
but they didn't seem to quite focus upon him. it was as if they were
more looking _through_ him. "I don't recognise your voice."
"I am M'yex, rider of green Enyth." He said with a smile. He had noticed
the man's lack of focus and the canine. "I was just sitting here
emboidering a canine at play on a saddle bag. at least it is suppost to
be a saddle bag when I am finished."
"Ah. I'm afraid I lack the skill and talent to do such a thing." The
harper grinned, switching his walking stick from one hand to the other
and reaching out to offer one to the greenrider. "I'm Lirit. Well met
M'yex."
M'yex took the offered hand and shook it. "Don't worry I'm sure you have something you are good at that I could only hope to be good at." He couldn't help but smile. "Were you headed anywhere important? Perhaps I could walk with you there? Or would you like to sit here a bit and talk?" He asked. He loved meeting new people.
}:M'yex, what does he need the stick for? He does not hit people with it does he?:{ Enyth was curious and a bit worried.
M'yex chuckled. "My green has just asked about your walking stick. She is worried that you hit people with it."
Surprise stretched over Lirit's face which then turned into amusement as he barked out in laughter. "Hit people? Oh no! No! I use this stick to help me get about the weyr!" He continued to chuckle for a moment. That was the first time a person had ever suggested such a thing. Well, not so much a person in this case, but a dragon. Close enough.
**She love? He uses it to help him find his way. He is blind.** M'yex tried to explian.
}:What is wrong with his eyes? Why can't he see?:{ She asked curious. She placed her head on the ground near them and looked at him closer.
"She is curious about your eyes. She has never met anyone that needed a stick to help them get about. She has a rather curious nature." M'yex chuckled. His green was watching Lirit so very closely. "She has placed her head level with you to see you better."
"Not much to see, I fear." The harper stated with a chuckle, though he didn't move. The greenrider didn't have to tell him where the dragon was, he could sense her, not to mention the waft of air that had accompanied her movements. "Though I suppose if I had to hit someone the stick could be useful. I don't do it, though, as a general rule."
"She likes to meet people." He couldn't help but chuckle again. "She wonders why your eyes don't see. She has never met anyone who couldn't see."
"They just don't. It happens sometimes." Lirit stated straight to the green and gave a shrug. "I was able to see when I was born, but I gradually lost my sight. Now, I see with things other than my eyes."
}:He is nice. I like him. sk him if he would like to be our friend.:{
"Enyth would like you to know she likes you. She'd also like me to ask you to please be our friend." M'yex tried in vain to supress a laugh. Enyth was so sweet and polite for a dragon. She loved making friends and was always the first to offer friendship.
Lirit chuckled and Scout cocked his head at the sound. "I would be delighted. Thank you."
Enyth seemed to rumble with pleasure. She got comfortable and left her rider to talk. She was satisfied to have helped hers find a nother friend.
M'yex shook his head. She always seemed so full of surprises for him. "Thank you. She is very pleased with herself now. She is out to make as many friends for me as she can possibly make. She thinks I spend far to much time on my own making my embroidered things."
"Sounds like a nice skill to have." Certainly not one that men generally picked up. Certainly not one he would do. "But don't forget that a bit of fabric and thread can't replace human companionship."
"I know She tells me that often enough." He glanced over as she shuffled. "She has just informed me that she is getting hungry. It was great meeting you. Perhaps we will meet again."
