Physical Description of Persona:
Not too tall, not too thin, and not too memorable, Rekka is as plain as they come. Her blondish, greying hair is somewhat lacklustre, her pale blue eyes are sad, and her lips are thin and colourless. Her nose has been broken more than once and wrinkles have been carved into the skin at the corners of her eyes, between her eyebrows, and around her mouth. She rarely looks people directly in the eye and her voice is soft when she speaks. Her left wrist was broken at one point and didn't heal properly, and so she has problems using her left hand.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Rekka is quiet, shies away from conflict, and is unable to stick up for herself. She's learnt that the best way to get through the day is to keep from drawing attention to herself and not to protest when she is picked on. She regrets a lot of the things she's done or failed to do during her life, and now that she's starting over she's trying her hardest to make up for her mistakes in her own quiet way.

History of Persona:
Rekka comes from a cotholder's family and married a neighbouring cotholder's son when she was fifteen. She worked hard and had eight children by him, all but one a daughter, and although they never fell in love with each other, Rekka enjoyed a marriage based on friendship and mutual respect.

That ended when a freak accident killed her husband when she was pregnant with her seventh daughter. Unable to manage a cot on her own and having eight children to care for besides, she begged the nearest Lord Holder to arrange a marriage for her.

Dalgray, her new husband, was abusive in every sense of the word, but Rekka kept her mouth shut and endured. Dalgray was bad, but being alone was worse, and eventually Rekka was so badly broken she was incapable of defending herself... and worse, incapable of defending her children. When her son came to her saying that Dalgrey was raping him - possibly because of his attempts to deflect the abuse away from her - she was too frightened of her husband to do anything. Her son ran away soon after, and Rekka watched helplessly as Dalgrey began to molest her daughter Abora. She tried to intervene once or twice but was badly hurt for her efforts, although it did sometimes serve to distract him from her daughter: this was when her wrist was broken. The only thing she could do was marry her daughters off as soon as she was able, and her youngest two she fostered at the nearest Hold.

Life drifted by, and Rekka found herself drifting with it. Her days became habit, and the only real presence in her life was Dalgrey. She hated him but couldn't exist without him; he defined who she was. Dalgrey's children grew up, and finally it was only the two of them in her cot.

Until Rekka suddenly left.
