Pronunciation: E - doh - vinn
Age: 19
Birthday: m7 d17
Rank: Candidate
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Craft: Harper
Craft Rank: Senior Apprentice

Physical Description of Persona:
Eidovin is an undeniably handsome young man. Well-groomed brunette hair, dazzling blue eyes, a strong jawline, and a distinguished nose all form a well-built face, but it is his million-mark smile that really brings it together. Eidovan has the smile of a man with the world in the palm of his hands. He carries his strong, tall frame with utmost confidence. Although he is hardly rich, he makes sure to dress well, to show that he takes pride in his appearance. He is a young man in his prime, a beautiful individual with a bright future ahead of him, someone you don’t want to mess with. And if he somehow comes across as a little full of himself… well, wouldn’t you be, if you were him?

Emotional Description of Persona:
Eidovin is going to be someone important one day. He knows it with the single-minded desperation of someone who cannot bear to consider anything else. Failure is unimaginable, flaws are unacceptable, he cannot be anything other than _ perfect _. And what is perfect in Eidovin’s eyes? Perfect is strong. Perfect is masculine. Perfect is a bold, outspoken leader of a man who knows what he wants and will seize it with no apologies.

All of this is to say that Eidovin is a fraught young man turning himself into a monster in his quest to become a hero. Who is he, in truth? He is someone who cares. He is tender with the ones he loves and would travel to the ends of Pern to keep them safe. With the select few who he lets see his mask slip, he is attentive, considerate, and far more gentle than anyone would guess with his usual brash loudness. He is a caretaker, not a fighter, and were it not for outside influences, he would be someone extraordinarily kind.

If he hadn’t marked all of those traits off as weak and undesirable, he could be someone good.

So who is Eidovin in practice? He is an exceptionally conservative hold’s ideal image of a young man with a ferocious mean streak. He is extraordinarily vain, his ego one that he thinks is deserved, and quick to dismiss the value of anyone who is not beautiful. People who cannot physically contribute as much as he thinks they should are similarly dismissed as worthless. He is a bully, quick to try to force his ideals on others and lash out at any who do not immediately accept them. Women’s rights and homosexuality are met with open scorn. Dragonriders are heroic and good, but none could ever hope to be as good as a bronze and everyone knows that there is something _ off_ about the green and blueriders. Anyone who disagrees with him is crushed beneath the heel of sarcasm and mockery, for he is masculine and strong and frequently the loudest voice in the room, and that must mean that he is _right_.

Eidovin sees no problem with who he is. The kind boy suffocating inside of him is one who deserves to die. Surely, _surely_ , the path that he is on will not lead him astray.

History of Persona:
Noria was a holdbred girl who had been searched for a gold egg, only to impress her green Maewyth, as the song so often goes. The difference in this tale is that where others adapt to their circumstances, Noria collapsed. She came to view herself with the utmost self-loathing and devolved into an exceedingly toxic person. There is no telling whether it was self-loathing or recognition of what she had become that caused her to foster her son at Emerald Falls Hold. Whatever it was, she never looked back. Eidovin was raised by his aunt and uncle without meeting his mother once in his life.

Nyaera and Kamden were an excessively traditional couple, even by the standards of Emerald Falls Hold. They were not _ bad _ parents by any means. They considered Eidovin one of their own, did not treat him any differently for his heritage, and taught him to see their children as his siblings. However, they also did nothing to discourage his worst traits. Quite the contrary. As Eidovin grew into a cruel little bully, they bragged about what a confident little boy they had. They looked at him and saw nothing but the perfect son, even if he was not biologically their own.

And Eidovin? He absorbed their praise like it was air and he needed to breathe.

Eidovin did not think about his mother and her shame and regret when he was searched. He saw it as an opportunity to make his family even more proud of him. He was already doing great as an apprentice harper, imagine what they’d think of him as a _bronzerider_! Eidovin accepted the search token with the utmost confidence that he would impress bronze and go on to do something incredible, not for a second thinking that he could come to regret anything.
