Physical Description of Persona:
Rabain is a sturdy young man, well muscled down the arms and across the shoulders from Turns spent sawing and planing for the craft. Still in his apprenticeship, he keeps his dark hair in a short and simple cut, ready to return to work when this weyr-dream is over. His clothes are simple as well. On an apprentice’s allowance, style is beyond his budget.

He's at his best when he smiles, which is thankfully frequent. When he smiles, the corners of his warm brown eyes crinkle with pleasure and deep dimples flash in his cheeks. It's a good smile. It gives him a certain boyish charm that no amount of marks can buy.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Rabain is a proactive young man, he’s had to be to get ahead in life-- and he has indeed gotten ahead.

The secret, he’s found, is a mix of elbow grease and charm. It’s not enough to just be hard working, you have to stand out. It’s not enough to be likable, you have to be competent. Rabain set out to do both when he left his cothold, that’s what eventually got him a crafter’s notice and his coveted apprenticeship.

Now, he has the confidence of someone who’s already achieved a life long goal. For him, that was becoming the first crafter in his family. He’s since peaked and is enjoying the fruits of his labor. He is pleased to his bones to be where he is, doing what he’s been doing. This self-satisfaction has given him a quiet, steady sort of confidence. He knows who and what he is. It takes a lot to really rile or upset him.

These days he's on a weyr adventure. One that will hopefully give him a few stories to tell back home when he returns to his Real Life. He’s pragmatic and doesn't have any illusions about his candidacy. He wasn't really Searched. He's just along for the ride, as long as it lasts.

History of Persona:
Rabain’s simple life has been going well. Born to an overly large family in a remote cothold, he found work young as part of the labor crew of a traveling journeyman woodcrafter. As time went on, he managed to win an apprenticeship under the same man. Despite his humble beginnings, he was on track to become a skilled crafter, the first in his family. He was looking forward to it. His family was proud, he was proud. Then work led him to Barrier Lake Weyr and the construction efforts there, and he began to dream even bigger. He was already at the weyr. Why not see a hatching up close and personal?

Near the end of Turn 11, he took his chance. After sending one last wage packet home to his family, he gathered some friends and set out to get them all on the sands.

Weyrwoman Kapera, to his grateful surprise, kept a very generous stance towards healthy young people Standing, so the task was accomplished more simply than expected.
