Persona Profile: Nokala (Inactive)

Writer: Chelle

Name: Nokala
Age: 40
Birthday: m10 d14
Rank: Senior Journeyman Harper
Location: Dragonsfall Weyr
Job: Harper
Craft: Harper
Craft Rank: Senior Journeyman
Speciality: Teaching

Physical Description of Persona:
Nokala's skin is a light caramel color, not black like her father's or white like her mother's. So when she tans, she gets bronzish easily. Her cream colored skin is offset by her black eyes, which are really just a very deep brown. Her nose is rounded, but the lips come from her father's side of the family. They're full, with a light pink color to them. Her hair is usually worn in one long braid or even small rows that a drudge helps her with in exchange for small favors. It's a rare occasion when it's down and running smooth. The texture is the same as her mother's rich mahogany hair, as well as the color. When down, it reaches almost to her bottom.

She usually prefers to wear wherhide pants with loose tunics to hide the average chest she has as well as the muscle she's built up. From time to time, though, she's been known to sport freeflowing dresses or skirts as her mood changes.

Nokala was blessed with her father's height, bringing her to a startling 5'11". Her frame is best described as sinewy, a blend of muscle and femininity. One might say she's athletic, which she is. She could easily have gone into the runnercraft like her aunts and uncles on her father's side.

Another thing that's noticeable about this startling creature is her expressive eyes. Her eyes show her emotions, her thoughts, her feelings, and everything else that is going on with her. She could hold her entire body rigid, but her eyes would betray her every time. And often, she seems to exude a sensual beauty about her without even realizing it.

Emotional Description of Persona:
Thanks to Weyrlife, Nokala has been a free soul for as long as she can remember. Never settling down with a single weyrmate for too long, she's tried a lot of things. She's even considered babies, but hasn't been that fortunate yet. Because of her lazy sense of commitment, it's been often said she compares to a bird. And since she doesn't spend much time with anyone, it's hard for her to get attached enough to love or be angry at them. This aspect of her personality might even make her seem flaky, except when she has an opinion on something. Passion is clear then.

This is not true in two aspects of her life, however. Her career is something she takes VERY seriously. She's never made a mistake during performances without practicing harder to make up for it or berating herself for at least a turn. And, when it comes to family, she's never one to forget. She visits her relations in Far Island as often as she can. She'd do anything she could for any of them, all they would have to do is ask and they know it. And they are the same way.

History of Persona:
Her mother, Oklo, was an apprentice baker at Far Island Weyrhold, when she met her father, Gestin. The two danced at some of the gathers, but Gestin was a candidate and he Impressed blue Xanoth, making him G'stin. He kept the relationship going though, seeing something in Oklo that he appreciated. They were weyrmated and had three children, S'kon, Nokala, and Gimmi.

Growing up as a weyrbrat in Far Island was nothing less than interesting. Nokala quickly learned how to take care of a dragon, as well as the differences in sexual preference. After Standing for many Hatchings and never Impressing, she turned to crafting instead. The girl became a harper and quickly threw herself into her studies.

When she received her senior journeyman knots, she decided it was time to start traveling more. As a woman, she was limited. Far Island was routine for her now. She needed something different, with new people. So her transfer was put through to Dragonsfall Weyr to serve as one of their harpers as word of their transitioning state was heard around Pern.
