Tavia stirred and her eyes opened. "U'kaiah," she whispered and hugged
him fiercely. He'd made that whole mess go away and given her exactly
what she'd needed.
The bronzerider responded by brushing a few strands of damp hair from
her forehead, and drawing a line of kisses across it. He could taste
the salt on her skin. With a long sigh, he pulled her even closer,
feeling utterly spent and wonderfully relaxed. He couldn't help feeling
just a little smug. That had been incredible.
She took a deep breath after a few moments of panting and blew it all
out. "Thank you," she said. His solution to her distress had been
perfect and it was what she needed from now on. "I want to come to
Dragonsfall... soon."
U'kaiah shifted so he could look her in the eye. She really meant it!
She was ready! His lips spread into a smile of pure relief and joy.
"Shards, Tavia, you have no idea how happy you have made me." He caught
her lips with swift kisses before reaching up to cradle her cheek and
deepening it into one that was long and smoldering. Leaning his
forehead against hers, he made her a sincere promise. "I will do my
best every day to make sure that you never regret that choice. I swear
I will."
Tavia couldn't help the bubble of laughter and she pushed him back
grinning. Then like a flash she was on top of him and her hair flipped
to a single side so she could see his face. "Thank you," she said a
gave him a sweet kiss as she lay against his chest. "We'll be happy, I
know we will." In her own mind she promised herself to be part of the
reason it worked.
While she knew full well he wouldn't be ready again for a bit she
couldn't help the emotion and need that began all over again and she
began her own slow assault on his neck and shoulders after a little
nibble for his left ear.
U'kaiah lay back, his eyes closing as he enjoyed the feelings she was
stirring up in him. He might not yet be ready for another round, but he
basked in the knowledge that it was more than just titillation, but an
expression of true feeling. The thrill he felt as she touched him was
that of feeling truly appreciated, truly wanted, and truly loved. It
was satisfying on an even deeper level and he welcomed it as his fingers
traced her sides and the small of her back.
Her kisses trailed across his chest she tasted something... Pulling
her head back she could see marks on his chest "Shards, did I do that
to you?" Some of them had obviously bled. She touched one gently and
the corner of her moth quirked up.
He lifted his head, and couldn't help his cocky bronzerider grin as he
surveyed the damage. It was a badge of honor as far as he was
concerned. Evidence that he had pleased her well. "And here I thought
Glory was the one I had to worry about," he teased, bringing fingers of
one of her hands up to his lips to kiss the tip of each. "I actually
like the idea of you making a mark to claim your territory from time to
time."
"Ha ha," she said in an exaggerated fashion. The needle about Glory
was no longer a sore spot but it was a tiny prick to her conscience.
Her fingertips tingled at the kisses and the reminder of what those
lips could do to her, _had_ done to her mere moments before began to
make her hungry for him all over again. "I'll keep that in mind," she
said and started back on his chest again and watching his face with a
little tilt of her head as her tongue flicked and teeth teased.
The smoldering heat in her eyes was mesmerizing. He couldn't help but
watch with quickening breath as she expertly worked to evoke a response
from his tired body. How it wanted to respond! It was not ready yet,
but it was certainly trying. When she boldly attacked a very sensitive
spot, U'kaiah couldn't help but throw his head back and close his eyes
with a hiss of excruciating pleasure. "Shards," he breathed, his breath
halting, but a grin spreading across his lips. Taking one more
shuddering breath, he let it out with a groan, "Aileyan." His eyes flew
open in alert surprise.
Tavia froze and stopped what she'd been doing as her head came up.
"What did you say?"
"Oh shards! I have to go!" U'kaiah sat up, thinking far enough ahead
to gently shift Tavia off his body before slipping off the side of the
bed and starting his hunt for his clothes, repeating, "I have to go! I
have to go!" Ah! His pants!
Tavia sat where he'd placed her a puzzled frown on her face. "U'kaiah,
What is going on!"
"It's Aileyan," he said by way of explanation as he crawled around the
floor looking for his boots, a shirt, _anything_. He found his shirt
and began pulling it on, but his arm was getting stuck in the sleeve.
"I'm sorry, Tavia, I have to go. I have to... Sharding shirt!"
Kalamath bellowed impatiently from the ledge. "I'm coming!" U'kaiah
yelled back, pulling the shirt back off and throwing it on the floor
in frustration. "Shard it all, this is enough. I'm sorry, Tavia, I'm
sorry! I have to go!" He got to his feet, backing out from her
sleeping area and holding his hands out apologetically. "It's
Aileyan, I have to go!"
"Faranth!" Tavia swore as she jumped off the bed and ran after him in
disbelief. "What's so sharding urgent!" But there was no answer and he
was gone, presumably to Aileyan. Tavia spat expletives as she stomped
back into her weyr.
